In Haastrecht as well as in Helmond the champagne was festively uncorked at the end of December. The year for the Sunpro and Bugs Out companies respectively could not go wrong when the Unilux representatives showed up at the door. Their arrival had been announced ("We have something nice for you!") but what exactly the "nice" thing was remained a secret. But the suspense of waiting was quickly broken: after all, it is Award time at screen manufacturer Unilux! Sunpro turned out to be the best performing online screen specialist in the Netherlands last year. And Bugs Out won the Award for the best performing online marketing concept.
"We were surprised," says a smiling Marjolein Haagen of the Haastrecht specialty retailer. "We have been doing business with Unilux since 2007. That has always been to our complete satisfaction and then suddenly representative Cees Schoneveld is standing in front of us with the award. Very nice. Yes, we obviously know that we sell Unilux screens well but it actually takes little effort to share the personal Unilux link through the socials and thus get a good result."
When Marjolein is asked what "the secret" to success is, she replies, "We think our website looks good and clear. We welcome many customers from the region. They see very quickly that we sell screens and that we have the Unilux brand in our range. I think that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. We haven't hired an online marketing agency to help us sell through the website. And yes, we are active on Social Media. That ticks up as well." According to Marjolein, winning this Award for the year 2024 is the motivation to try to do at least as well in 2025. "We want to win it again next year!" she laughs. "But apart from all this: it was also just nice to have Representative Cees visit. He has since retired and it was really nice to see him in December."
At Bugs Out in Helmond, the joy was at least as great. Speaking is Gijs Lansdaal, who is obviously also pleased with winning the Award for the best performing online marketing concept in 2024. The award was presented by representative Coert Teulings. Gijs: "We use the Unilux webshop especially during busy periods. For example, we went on vacation at one point, which meant that we were then unable to assemble the orders within a short time if we kept to our own delivery dates. So we regularly ordered online together with the customer in the Unilux webshop, which was integrated into our own environment and cleverly set up by Unilux. The screens were then delivered from Unilux to the consumer's home a week later, in accordance with a normal consumer order in the webshop. They got their screens in nicely on time, we were on vacation and still grabbed the online commission ourselves!"
So in addition to being able to promote Unilux's online webshop via your own website, a dealer can also feel free to use the webshop at the right times, such as during busy, peak periods and vacations. "If you are a bit clever with that - as we have done - then you combine the useful with the pleasant," he smiles with satisfaction. "But above all: we can always keep the agreements with our customers."
To avoid a proliferation of web stores for mosquito nets, Unilux took the step back in 2013 to develop a mosquito net shop that dealers could connect to. A good unique web formula emerged from this with the main goal of putting consumers in touch with specialists. It was made financially attractive for dealers to participate in this.
