Sustainability plays an increasingly important role within the shading industry. Not only in energy consumption or motorization, but also in the materials used. With Tibelly RE Shade, AVZ-Group is introducing a new cloth collection this year, developed in collaboration with Dickson, in which circularity and proven quality come together. The collection consists of acrylic fabric made fifty percent from recycled acrylic yarns and fifty percent from virgin acrylic fibers, with no concessions to performance, appearance or workability.
With Tibelly RE Shade, AVZ-Group wants to introduce dealers to a cloth solution that matches the growing attention to sustainable products. The fabric offers the same sun, heat and UV protection as traditional acrylic fabric and can easily be used within existing shading systems. Moreover, the introduction of this collection is a continuation of the trajectory announced by AVZ-Group in last year's Z&R, which explained how Hylas would use cutting waste from production for recycling in cooperation with cloth manufacturer Dickson.

Within AVZ-Group, sustainability is taking on an increasingly prominent role in the development of new products and materials. Tibelly RE Shade is a concrete example of this. The fabric is produced from a combination of recycled and virgin acrylic fibers, with cutting waste from production being reused as raw material.
“We are constantly looking at ways to use materials smarter and more sustainably,” said Lindsay Wevers, sustainability manager at AVZ Group. “With Tibelly RE Shade, we show that circularity and high-quality performance can go perfectly well together. By reusing residual materials from our production, we reduce the impact on raw materials.”
The use of recycled fibers also results in a demonstrably lower environmental impact. Acrylic cloth with recycled fibers has an average of about 27 percent less CO2 emissions than traditionally produced acrylic cloth, while retaining its technical properties.
In addition to sustainability, appearance also plays an important role within the collection. The combination of recycled and new fibers creates a subtle blended structure in the fabric. These natural nuances give the collection its own character and provide a look that fits well with contemporary architecture.

“The beauty of this collection is that the sustainable nature also becomes visible in the material itself,” says Simone Leenhouwers, Tibelly account manager. “The subtle melination results from the mix of recycled and virgin fibers and gives each color a natural depth. At the same time, the fabric continues to offer the same performance that dealers have come to expect from traditional acrylic fabric.” The collection consists of eight colors with a calm, natural look that fits well with modern facades and outdoor spaces.
For the development of Tibelly RE Shade, AVZ-Group is collaborating with textile specialist Dickson, an established name within the international awning industry. Combining expertise in awning fabrics with new recycling techniques creates a collection that takes a step forward both technically and sustainably.
Within the manufacturing process, acrylic residues are collected from the textile chain, mechanically fiberized and reprocessed into yarn. This yarn is then woven into new awning fabric, which once finished offers the same performance as traditional acrylic fabric.
With Tibelly RE Shade, AVZ-Group takes another step in the development of more sustainable shading solutions. For dealers, the collection offers a new opportunity to respond to the growing demand for sustainable products.
