Plastic profile specialist—the partner for sun protection and facade technology

CF kunststofprofielen has more than fifty years of experience in producing plastic profiles for the construction industry and other industries. The company, based in Gramsbergen in the province of Overijssel, also focuses specifically on the sun protection sector. At the upcoming edition of Polyclose, visitors will be able to discover CF kunststofprofielen's wide range of products for both indoor and outdoor sun protection. “We continue to invest in development, quality, and sustainability,” says Senior Key Account Manager Arjan Bosch.

The sun protection industry is an important area of application for CF Kunststofprofielen's products, and the company has now expanded its expertise far beyond the Netherlands. CF Kunststofprofielen targets a very broad market: in addition to window coverings, this includes the insect screen sector and plastic and aluminum window frames. “We produce all kinds of auxiliary profiles for these industries, including click, guide, mounting, and finishing profiles,” says Bosch. “We also supply a wide range of products for both indoor and outdoor sun protection. These include fabric profiles, side guide profiles, tendons, and fabric shells—all designed for a perfect finish and a long service life. We also have an extensive range of foam profiles, such as large foamed corner profiles and flat sheets, which are widely used in facade and window frame finishing.”

In-house tool shop

To enable customization, CF Kunststofprofielen has a fully equipped tool shop. Here, CF Kunststofprofielen develops around seventy-five new products every year in close collaboration with the customer. “We really take our customers by the hand,” Bosch continues. “Together, we work out their design, optimize it, and then translate it into a concrete product. This also includes a new mold, which we make ourselves.”

Over the years, the company has built up an impressive database of more than 6,000 different molds. “Approximately 2,000 of these are intended for our standard profiles, which we keep in stock and supply to the market. The remaining 4,000 are customer-specific molds. These are exclusive tools that we use to produce profiles that are intended solely for that particular customer.”

This combination of customization and an extensive standard range makes CF plastic profiles a versatile partner. With more than 2,000 different plastic profiles available directly from stock, the company is the ideal partner for facade technology and construction, among other things. “However, we distinguish ourselves in particular through customer-specific profiles that we extrude in-house,” says Bosch. “We also make our own tools and molds for these profiles in our own tool shop. That is quite unique in our industry.”

Patented frame assembly

In addition to its extensive range for the sun protection industry, CF Kunststofprofielen will also be showcasing other innovations at Polyclose that underline the company's versatility and technical expertise. One of the highlights that CF Kunststofprofielen will be presenting at the trade fair is a patented frame developed in collaboration with a partner. “It is a product that we developed on behalf of a customer, but which at the same time has a wide range of applications in the world of plastic frames,” says Bosch. “The adjustment frame is made from a foam profile based on recycled material – a fine example of our innovative and sustainable approach.”

Innovation and sustainability

Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in the production process. CF plastic profiles now uses more recycled plastics in its products, without compromising on quality or performance. “We are developing new compound materials in which recyclates are already integrated,” explains Bosch. “This means that our profiles retain their impact resistance and UV resistance, but are produced in a more sustainable way. Next year, we will be focusing even more on this.”
