The beauty of curtains combined with the functionality of vertical blinds

Choosing between curtains or vertical blinds is no longer necessary. After all, Illusion blinds offer the best of both worlds. Frank Dierckens has a great track record behind him, mainly as the strong man behind Diaz Sunprotection. “I started this 100 % Belgian manufacturer of interior blinds and window coverings and built the company into the strong player it is today. Last year, after exactly 25 years, was the right time to leave my brainchild in good hands. However, it was far too early to retire,” he begins his story. “Illusion blinds is my new challenge and together with my partner Fauve Haegebaert, I want this project to succeed as well. It is certainly not obvious to launch novelties, but after all, a person is curious about innovative and eye-catching products.”

Revolutionary solution made to European standards

Illusion blinds combine the beauty of curtains with the functionality of vertical blinds. The blinds consist of three sections: a transparent fabric in the middle and a non-transparent section on both sides. These can be rotated as desired to limit light and increase privacy. “When choosing the fabrics, we consider, among other things, the look and feel and hanging behavior. They are soft to the touch and remain sleek at all times. They are available in many different designs. Indeed, our range includes five collections: Alviani, Ocampo, Otero, Rayo and Crespin, with which we recently launched our first own overall collection,” Fauve explains. 

“Frank knows the window decoration market inside out and therefore knew perfectly how to go about making our new baby a success. We do not produce the fabrics ourselves in-house, but rather at the factory of a carefully selected partner abroad. However, we carefully control quality, color consistency, stability, packaging and shipping locally. Thus we can guarantee excellent quality to European standards and combine it with fast service.”

Focus on manufacturers, trade and project market

The new building in Blankenberge serves as an office, showroom and testing area, but more importantly as a production facility and warehouse. They keep several thousand meters of each reference on rolls in stock and also invested in a machine to manufacture the blinds to size fully automatically. This allows them to guarantee customers a stable and high-quality finish and very short delivery times. 

“For the Benelux, we are working exclusively with Diaz Sunprotection. They offer the illusion blinds as a complete system or as individual, customized slats. We are looking for manufacturers, traders and project specialists who want to work with our innovative solution. For start-up partners, we can provide customized illusion blinds. At the next stage, they can purchase or rent a semi- or fully automated machine from us - all in consultation and depending on ambitions, budget and available space. We deliver our products per box (200 meters), per half pallet (3000 meters) or per pallet (6000 meters),” Frank concludes. “Whoever wants to work with us can also count on the necessary marketing support. For example, there is an exclusive box with documentation, collections and samples, which can be personalized on request. Let's work together.”
