Today, a hotel terrace is much more than just a place to set up a table outside when the weather is nice. It’s a fully-fledged lounge area where guests can have breakfast, enjoy an aperitif, dine, or simply take in the surroundings. Sun, warmth, or an unexpected rain shower should disrupt that experience as little as possible.
That’s exactly where Brustor and hospitality intersect. With patio covers that adapt to sunlight, shade, and shelter, an outdoor space can be used much more flexibly—without compromising on architecture or aesthetics.

A great example can be found at Hotel Lisetta in Tirolo, near Merano in South Tyrol. This four-star superior hotel is situated on a sunny hillside above Merano and is strongly committed to providing a delightful experience: from the panoramic scenery and the garden to fine dining and wellness. The terrace also plays an important role in this.
At Hotel Lisetta, three B600 S patio covers with sliding louvered roofs were selected and installed side by side to create a spacious, continuous outdoor area. The canopies were finished in RAL 8019 ST, a warm gray-brown shade that complements the hotel’s natural materials and its calm, elegant appearance, creating a serene, harmonious whole.
The B600 S is particularly interesting here because the louvers can not only tilt but also slide open almost completely. When fully open, the louver assembly occupies only 13% of the roof surface. This allows the patio to be opened up as much as possible in pleasant weather, while providing quick, cooling shade during hot spells.
This makes the system particularly flexible for a hotel setting. Plenty of light in the morning during breakfast, more shade as the afternoon sun grows stronger, and an open feeling again as soon as conditions allow. The focus isn’t on the canopy itself, but on what happens beneath it. The architecture enhances the guest experience and gives the operator more freedom to use the patio throughout the day.
A few kilometers further on, the Napura Art & Design Hotel near Bolzano also demonstrates how important customization is in the hospitality industry. The B200(XL) was chosen for the spacious Sky Terrace. To cover more than 73 m² of terrace, several roof modules were connected in a star configuration. Integrated ZIP screens provide additional protection from the low-angle sun, while LED lighting ensures that the terrace remains a pleasant place to enjoy even in the evening.
Two hotels in the same region, but two different terrace requirements. That’s exactly what illustrates the power of a broad product range: starting not from a single standard solution, but from the architecture, intended use, floor area, and desired experience. Both projects were carried out by Brustor distributor Katmetal, which is strongly committed to providing solutions tailored to each project.

For businesses that prefer the softer look of a canopy with a fabric roof, the options expanded this year. The B310 combines a sleek, cubist design with a retractable fabric that offers protection from both sun and rain. When the weather invites you to sit completely outdoors, the canopy can be opened wide to allow maximum light and an unobstructed view of the sky. This makes the B310 an attractive option for restaurant patios, hotels, and other hospitality projects where flexibility, comfort, and aesthetics must come together.
From a compact hotel terrace to a large spa or restaurant area: a well-designed terrace creates extra space to welcome guests and allows them to enjoy the outdoors in comfort for longer. For Brustor, a hospitality project therefore doesn’t start with the question “Which patio cover?”, but rather: “What should this outdoor space offer both guests and the operator?”
