The necessary attention and the right anchors
No matter how well-finished your stucco is, poor ventilation or thermal bridges will eventually cause problems. Fortunately, much of this damage to stucco facades can be prevented. That’s according to Roel Tromp, founder and owner of LJ Solutions. It’s a clear statement, and one he’s eager to back up.
“LJ Solutions was born out of this very frustration—and a passion for facades. Things had to change, and fortunately, they can.” Based on that idea, the first ventilation grilles were created, and over the years, an extensive range of ventilation and mounting products has been developed. “Our smart ventilation systems ensure that stucco facades are properly and continuously ventilated, keeping the facade healthy and beautiful. You prevent damage, such as unsightly cracks and green efflorescence,” says Roel. “It’s actually very simple, but incredibly effective.”

This summer, a lot of awnings and air conditioning units were installed again, including on stuccoed exterior wall insulation. “Mounting an awning like this on exterior wall insulation requires careful attention and the right anchors,” Roel explains. “That’s why, in addition to ventilation systems, we also supply plugs, anchors, and fixture holders to attach objects to exterior wall insulation without creating a thermal bridge.” And it’s precisely that detail that makes all the difference: “With our products, you prevent thermal bridges in the exterior wall insulation—and thus the associated problems with moisture, reduced insulation performance, and damage to the stucco. And that’s not just a shame for the facade; it can also be prevented! We see that plasterers are often held liable for damage, even though the problem stems from the use of incorrect mounting hardware.”
But there’s more: “In everything we do, our collaboration with partners and customers comes first; social sustainability is our core value. And we do this with our wonderful team, made up of about ten enthusiastic, passionate, and slightly crazy colleagues.” This year, you can meet the LJ Solutions team at the Dag van de Afwerking, a trade show at Brussels Gate in Belgium: “We’re using this opportunity to explore exciting possibilities for greater collaboration in the Belgian market. We work for and with architects, developers, contractors, installers, and plasterers both domestically and internationally. We’re eager to establish and strengthen these connections at various trade shows, such as the Dag van de Afwerking.” All of this results in great partnerships and beautiful, healthy facades!
