Home upgrade with solar-powered screens

When they had their home built in Wuustwezel (Belgium) in 2014, the Antonissen-Verheyen family did not have the budget for screens. Nevertheless, the sun was bothering the residents. “The low, glaring sun caused annoying reflections on the TV in the sitting area during the off-season, despite the overhang,” they say. “The reduction in VAT from 21 to 6 percent because our home was ten years old made this the perfect time to upgrade our home.”

The entire installation is done on the outside. ”What's more, screens are a smart choice anyway,“ says Danny. ”Everyone wants to let in lots of daylight through large windows. Screens still allow sunlight in, but filter the sun's rays so that the heat effect is no longer an issue. Thanks to the slim design of the fabric box, it hardly protrudes in front of the glass, allowing you to let in maximum light."

The aluminum fabric box, the guides, and the fabric were finished in anthracite here, blending in beautifully with the existing joinery. The result?
