The vision behind the redesigned patio covers

At Verano®, we don’t start with the profile or the aluminum alloy, but with what the customer actually wants for their patio and what our partner needs to be able to deliver it. When it comes to patio covers, it always boils down to the same thing: the end customer wants comfort and an unobstructed view of their garden, while the partner wants ease of installation and efficiency. These two principles have shaped the redesign of the V908 – Ledro, Verano’s best-selling patio cover. And they’re exactly why more is now possible under that single roof than ever before.

Comfort starts with the view

Anyone sitting under a canopy wants to see the garden, not a grid of profiles and posts. That’s why the glass panels have become wider: with Glass 44.2, a panel is now up to 860 mm wide instead of 700 mm, and with the heavier Glass 55.2, that increases to 1000 mm instead of 830 mm. The difference is clearly visible in a 4,500 by 2,500 mm roof: where seven glass panels were previously required, only five are now needed. The span itself has also been increased, meaning that in many cases, an additional mullion is required only at larger dimensions than with the previous version. The result is a more harmonious roof appearance with greater natural light. This is exactly the look that matters most to the end customer.

Ease of installation as the second guiding principle

That same choice has implications for the other side of the job. Fewer roof beams and—where the span allows—fewer posts mean fewer components to install and level. For the partner, this results in immediate time savings during installation. With this innovation, customer convenience and speed for the partner are not two separate issues, but the result of the same decisions.

Comfort without compromising safety

The testing process behind it proves that this is more than just an aesthetic upgrade. To verify its snow load capacity, the redesigned Ledro was tested under the supervision of TÜV NORD at a load of 0.8 kN per square meter, resulting in a TÜV certificate. Verano® has its production audited annually to ensure that this standard is maintained for every new patio cover. Greater comfort and a better view, therefore, do not have to mean compromising on sturdiness. The philosophy of starting with what the customer and partner need—rather than what a particular profile happens to allow—is exactly what Verano® applies to the rest of its patio cover lineup. The V908 – Ledro is the clearest example this year, but it’s not the only area where that vision is reflected.
