Verosol opens heritage monument of Cornelis Verolme

A true museum piece, but now provided with a special coating, so that a nice viewing spot is entirely appropriate for the very first metallizing machine of Cornelis Verolme. Verosol has agreed with the Municipality of Berkelland that this heritage piece may be placed at the Kiefte 17, at a beautiful sight location, perfectly visible from the Groenloseweg (old N18). 

At first glance it may look like a submarine or a futuristic time machine, but nothing could be further from the truth! This is the first high-vacuum metallizing machine for texiles built by Verolme Verenigde Scheepswerven NV by order of Cornelis Verolme (1900-1981). Founder of the company Verosol Vacuum Metalising (1965), now called Verosol.

For the opening of the monument, Anders Byriel, CEO Kvadrat came over from Denmark. Anders Byriel together with Jasper Hoek, CEO Verosol, unveiled the monument and screwed the original boilerplate from 1966 back on the machine.

The Verosol Group has been acquired in 2019 by Denmark's Kvadrat, leading global manufacturer of high-quality designer textiles. Verosol now has a second and third metalizing machine at its blue factory in Eibergen where it provides fabrics with a high-end aluminum coating. Worldwide, Verosol is the absolute market leader in this niche market, which makes Verosol a special (unknown to many) gem of the region. By installing this special first machine, Verosol is trying to create more awareness and pride for the product from Eibergen.
