STOBAG changes strategy and closes branch in Weesp

To anticipate a changing market with new dynamics and challenges, the Swiss company STOBAG is implementing a strategic reorientation of its market operations. As a result, the Weesp-based sales organization for Northern Europe, consisting of office, experience center and STOBAG University, will close its doors on December 31.

STOBAG's Weesp branch has experienced tremendous growth since taking over as importer in 2011 and has been profitable for some time, notes STOBAG Northern Europe CEO Marcel Veeneman. “A strong brand positioning, adapted to the specifics of the Northern European markets, has created a strong and profitable dealer network that is driven with great energy and drive by the headquarters in Weesp.”

A STOBAG University was also located in Weesp to train dealers and assembly personnel.

Effective January 1, 2020, STOBAG will approach the Northern European markets from a centrally driven sales structure. “For the current STOBAG partners, in principle, little will change,” said Veeneman. “The sales managers in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia will remain unchanged as the primary point of contact for STOBAG partners. Due to the introduction of the service concept announced earlier in Z&R, service levels will also remain at the current level.”

The current STOBAG team in Weesp will remain fully operational until the end of this year to properly prepare and complete the transition to the new situation in 2020 for all parties. “Of course, STOBAG will not be missing from the upcoming Polyclose,” Veeneman concludes. “With a sizeable stand there, the new PERGOLINO, the benchmark in our industry, will be presented to the professional world in the Benelux.”
