Preparations for R+T 2024 in February next year are in full swing. More than 1,000 exhibitors have already signed up to present their new products and services. The entire 120,000 m2 exhibition complex will again be fully booked. About 80% of the exhibiting companies are from abroad. It emphasizes the international character of the R+T.
Participating companies are already busy preparing for the trade fair. "The omens for a successful R+T are good," says Sebastian Schmid, member of the executive board of Messe Stuttgart. "We are very pleased that the industry is preparing for the trade fair with full commitment and full of anticipation. We can hardly wait! It will be a special trade fair experience for all participants with undoubtedly numerous highlights."
"The R+T 2024 will once again showcase a unique power of innovation and offer all visitors to the trade fair a broad exhibition offer and a wide variety of innovations," Schmid continued. "What shutters, gates and awnings will be presented in Stuttgart in February 2024 will define the market. But apart from innovation, the upcoming edition of the R+T has another theme that will receive full attention: sustainability! It is one of the main themes of our time as well as the main theme of the R+T."
"We keep a close eye on the market and are always in close contact with our exhibitors. The intensive discussions in recent months have demonstrated the importance of sustainability and energy efficiency and the high demand from end users for products to match."
Under the motto Future. Sustainable. Shape. TogetheR+T. visitors to the trade fair can experience various innovative solutions live. "The products of our exhibitors are also sustainable in themselves," believes Melanie Brenner, manager of Messe Stuttgart. "Because their high quality means they last a long time and help save energy at the same time. This is particularly true of sun protection. Moreover, in recent years a lot has been done in all sectors to use resources efficiently in production. Sustainability is therefore widely embedded."
To also draw attention to sustainability in the run-up to the R+T, the R+T has come up with its own green motif as well as colored its own logo green. "It shows how important this theme is to us and that the upcoming edition of the fair will be entirely dedicated to this main theme," explains Sebastian Schmid. The fringe program of the fair is also geared to it. For example, there will again be a workshop by the umbrella organization of the European sun protection industry ES-SO. Furthermore, sustainability is the theme of campfire sessions, the architects' program on Feb. 22 and various lectures and panel discussions.

"Finally, the innovation prize will also play a role in this context," Schmidt concludes. "In 2024, we will award special prizes for sustainability and energy efficiency to emphasize their importance. "Moreover, for sustainability reasons, the entire application process for the prize will take place digitally. Incidentally, more than 80 companies from 18 countries have already applied for the R+T Innovation Prize 2024. Sustainability will certainly be reflected in many entries. Curious?
