“And this would then be caused by numerous alternatives, such as the veranda roof, the pergola awning and other exotic solutions. But nothing could be further from the truth! We are still seeing an increase in the number of articulated awnings sold every year. And of course the alternatives are taking some of the market share, but not to the extent that we notice it substantially in the volumes. Those remain unprecedentedly large and continue to grow as well, culminating in the 2020 season for now!”

“What helps with this is that Rainbowsol, as a manufacturer, has just about the widest range of articulated screens on the Dutch market,” Bosch continued. “In addition to the two ‘old-fashioned’ types 78/110 Malta and Rhodes - still popular with part of the slightly older public or people with a narrow budget who still need shade - we also have twin-tube screens in the range. These are the popular Ibiza semi-cassette screen, the Ibiza Plus cassette screen, the streamlined Balero with semi-circular or circular front frame and the Palma. In the range of three-bay screens, Rainbowsol has the extremely strong Corfu, the new Balero XL and the Marbella, which is particularly popular in the hospitality industry. Most of these screens are also available from stock in the Limited Edition version.”

To perpetuate and expand the success of this product group, Rainbowsol has recently released two new articulated screens. They are the two-bowl screen Q-230, which goes up to 5.50 m wide, and the three-bowl screen Q-240 which goes up to 6.5 m wide. “These screens are part of a series, which also includes the drop screen Q-105 and the zipscreen Q-100,” Bosch said. “All of these products are attractive, modern and sleekly designed.”
“What is true of the articulated blinds also still applies, in a sense, to the drop screens,” Bosch believes. “They are certainly not bought by consumers as massively as screens, for example, but still in sufficient numbers for Rainbowsol to maintain a reasonably extensive program of them. In addition to the ever-popular Carré, there are also the ‘good old’ 50/80 and 65/110, both in the drop-out and sliding-arm versions. Of course, with the Crete also a cassette version is not missing and with the sleekly designed Q-105 we have even included a new drop screen in the Rainbowsol range!”

“In short, two product groups that are far from losing popularity,” Bosch concludes. “On the contrary! Product groups that we as a manufacturer will continue to fight hard for by keeping the assortment complete and up-to-date.”
