How do you get an awning specialist happy? With a good party, of course! Sunmaster understands the art of hospitality like no other and so, on January 30, the brand new production hall of the sun blind manufacturer was filled with enthusiastic customers and associates. Entirely in the ‘Food Festival’ theme, director-owner Chris Kollen welcomed his customers to an evening devoted to good food, drinks, conviviality and music.
For the occasion, the new company hall - which normally serves as a storage facility for profiles - had been transformed into an atmospheric stage. “Now this is still possible,” said Chris Kollen. “Later, when everything is ‘up and running,’ it will be a search for where we can have so many people celebrating next year.” After all, it is common knowledge that it is a good tradition at Sunmaster to throw a nice party in the first month of the new year.

Speaker and illusionist Jochem Nooyen showed how we can be subconsciously influenced.
Naturally, the useful was combined with the pleasant. Besides good music played by cover band Female Fusion, the two hundred attendees were able to enjoy a presentation by speaker and illusionist Jochem Nooyen, who graphically showed how we can be subconsciously influenced. Somfy was on hand with a well-prepared presentation by Marco de Gier, who playfully led the audience into the world of digitalization. With a nice reference to the science fiction of yesteryear, he showed that inventions we admired in Star Trek in the 1970s and 1980s have become accessible to everyone today.

Marco de Gier of Somfy crawled into the skin of Captain Kirk for the occasion and briefly took the audience aboard Star Trek spaceship Enterprise.
The artist of the evening had deliberately not been announced. It was therefore a big surprise for everyone that Wolter Kroes was brought to Nijkerk for the occasion, to ‘go out of the roof’ together with all the guests. It is commendable that Sunmaster appreciates its customers in this way. The reactions of the customers were purely positive. “We feel tremendously spoiled and appreciated,” said one of the attendees. “Every year Sunmaster unpacks to show us that we are important. Where do you find that anymore?”

Sunmaster's hosts showed their best side.
A neighbor's land is only for sale once, but for Chris Kollen and Sunmaster, that flyer went twice. First, he was able to buy the old Sunmaster building, adjacent to the property on Patroon Street. This now dated building was transformed into an ultramodern space where production could soon be resumed. It didn't stop there, because when the neighbor's property also became vacant, Kollen grabbed the opportunity with both hands and bought that property as well. “The growth we are experiencing can be managed thanks to the purchase of the latter property,” Kollen said. “With that latest purchase added, we now have not only an impressive, but also an efficient business complex, and we can now move on to even higher gears with our production when needed.”
