At the firms SolFaction in Zwolle and Coulisse in Enter the champagne can be uncorked. The two sun protection companies have been nominated for the Z&R Awards 2026 in the indoor sun protection category. In addition, Cornels (Nieuw-Vennep) and Brustor (Gullegem, Belgium) have been nominated this year for the outdoor sun protection category. The bubbles may be poured there, too. Because, according to project manager Erik Imming, there were many entries from awning country. “On October 1, 2025, the registration started, we received almost 30 entries,” he says.”
Imming continues: “This shows once again that in our field companies are still innovating in abundance and there is always a focus on whether crucial technical improvements can be added to existing products or whether new products are actually created. The world of solar shading has not stood still. The jury had quite a job to do, but we came through. We will announce the winners in the next issue of Z&R.”

With the ‘ready-made acoustic cloths.
SolFaction has been nominated for the technically exceptional confection of acoustic composite fabric for large round-arched windows. For 24 monumental windows in Predikheren Mechelen, the company developed a solution with special carbon ribs, making sunlight regulation and sound comfort applicable together in a form that is difficult to roll up.

With ‘Smart Frame.
