Luxaflex® has developed a totally updated version of the Powerview® automation system. "With the smart wireless system you control window decoration throughout the house via remote control, wall control or with the PowerView® App, also remotely," said Silvia Jagtenberg of Luxaflex® Netherlands. One of the innovations is that the application now connects even more easily to the window decoration and other smart systems in the home via Bluetooth or WiFi, offering even greater flexibility and range than before.
According to Luxaflex®, the updated app combines better connectivity with a smart system. Since its introduction in 2016, PowerView® automation has continued to evolve and become smarter. In the new version, the window decoration specialist has made the following updates:
"The updated system connects even better with the most common smart systems, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Homekit, making voice control also possible," said Silvia Jagtenberg. "Existing users of PowerView® automation can of course also use the new app to control their previously purchased products."
With the smart system, curtains or other window coverings can be controlled remotely, such as from work or even the vacation destination. "This makes it seem like you are still at home and people can go to work or on vacation with peace of mind." Fixed times for opening and closing window coverings can also be set via the app.
A lot of heat can escape through windows in the cold seasons or come in during the warm months of the year. People have to incur additional costs as a result. "With PowerView® automation, energy consumption can be reduced and thus energy costs can be saved, because the system can easily be linked to a smart thermostat," said Silvia Jagtenberg. "For example, it can be set that when the thermostat has reached a certain temperature, the heating or air conditioning is turned off and the smart window decoration moves down. In this way, the window decoration can easily be closed even when the occupants are not at home, in summer to prevent the sun from heating up the house unnecessarily, in winter to prevent unnecessary heat loss. Everything to ensure that the indoor temperature remains as manageable as possible."
Additional insulation is possible, according to Luxaflex®, with PowerView®-controlled Duette® Shades Architella® or by combining several types of window coverings in one scenario, so-called layering. In this way, the indoor temperature can be optimally controlled, thus saving on costs for heating in winter or air conditioning in summer.
