Markilux's Augmented Reality app, which allows awnings and patio covers to be virtually mounted on the facade using a tablet or smartphone, has now been expanded with new functions. They make configuration even easier and more intuitive.
"The app launched by markilux last year was so well received by our trade partners and customers that we immediately developed it further to make it even more user-friendly," says Christiane Berning, department head for marketing and business development at markilux.
Touch Icons
Position, height and width of an awning can be defined with the app in just a few steps via tablet or smartphone, after which a product can be selected from fifteen awnings and patio covers. Until now, a menu had to define what an awning should look like. From now on, configuration is done directly from the screen display using Touch Icons. "This works even more intuitively," Christiane Berning believes. "The configured blinds are then saved and can be magnified, viewed from all angles, and even the shadow generated by the blinds can be simulated. It is also possible to switch to other screen models."
Diminished Reality
A completely new feature is Diminished Reality. This allows an already existing awning on the home to be removed in the view screen to get a nice image of the new screen model.
In addition to the live mode, the app has a product catalog with a visualized three-dimensional house facade, intended for situations when the live mode is not available, for example in bad weather. "With our customized app, we make it even easier for our customers to choose an awning," concludes Christiane Berning. "After all, just a few clicks are enough to change model, color or version."
