Winsol: 'Two new articulated arms with longer life and integrated LED lighting'

Winsol is offering a solution to that in 2021: two new articulated arms with longer life, more cycles, higher wind load and two LED strips in the arm for additional direct lighting under the screen, according to the company. 

The first arm contains twice as many steel cables compared to the twin cable arm and, according to Winsol's statement, has four times the lifespan. In addition, the cables are self-lubricating, making the folding and unfolding of the awning smoother and without resistance. 

In addition to the quadruple cable arm, the Powerband arm with Dyneema tape is also new. Dyneema is a strong, woven plastic also used in the sailing and aerospace industries. According to Winsol, it contributes to up to 10 times longer arm and screen life. Both arms can withstand wind speeds up to 6 Beaufort (wind class 3) and are applicable to Winsol screens Squaro, Linasol, Lumisol and Luno. 

Furthermore, the new arms should also provide better fabric tension and higher headroom due to a 50% smaller elbow angle, and they should enable larger spans of, for example, 7 x 4 m. 

With optional LED lighting in the arm, Winsol adds a third lighting option to the most popular screens in its range. These LED strips - on/off or dimmable warm white or controllable warm-cold white light (only on the Linasol) - can also be retrofitted to the four-way cable arm and the Powerband arm with Dyneema tape.
