“The Luxaflex® Outdoor Awning has the classic look expected of an awning,” says Edwin Bosma, responsible for technical support and training at Luxaflex® Netherlands. “But because Luxaflex® awnings are not only available in wood, but also in the modern material aluminum, the end user can choose the look that best suits their own home.”
“To avoid damage as much as possible, the wood for the wooden awnings is round planed and knot-free as much as possible,” Bosma continues. “Furthermore, we use sturdy backflap hinges with copper pins. The high-quality aluminum for the aluminum awnings is light and rustproof. With the aluminum awning, even the pop rivets are color-matched for the finest finish and cast parts are additionally treated to prevent oxidation.”
In the past, all awnings were removed from the facades in the fall by the local awning supplier and cleaned, repaired and painted if necessary, and then stored. In the spring they were then put back in place and people could once again enjoy beautiful awnings that not only kept out the sun and heat, but also looked neat again.
These days, this rarely happens, but of course people want their awnings to last and stay looking great. This is where Luxaflex® Outdoor's patented Awning-In provides relief. If an awning is left unprotected on the façade during autumn and winter, green deposits can form on it over time. Cleaning with a pressure washer may clean the fabric, but it can also remove the protective layer. To ensure that the awning fabric stays beautiful without having to be cleaned, you can also choose to wrap it in the fall. “Unique to Luxaflex®”s awning program, we offer a solution for that,“ Bosma said. ”It is the patented Awning-In that protects and preserves the awning fabric and keeps the awning in optimal shape during autumn and winter."
The Awning-In is a simple solution. It is a cover made to the size of an awning with the right fit, usually made of the same fabric used on the awning. The Awning-In can easily be folded around the awning and closed and fixed with push buttons. An awning is thus easily protected from the weather. In spring, the Awning-In can easily be removed again, after which the awning is again ready for use. “An ideal - and unique - additional sales option for consumers who want to be economical with their awnings,” concludes Edwin Bosma.
