That means a year full of actions, surprises and a look back at the history of Luxaflex®, a brand that has become indispensable in Dutch interiors.

Created in 1951, the Luxaflex® brand introduced the horizontal aluminum blind to the Netherlands. "Thanks to its excellent design and practical functionality, 'the Luxaflex®' became a very popular window covering in a short time," said Silvia Jagtenberg of Luxaflex® Netherlands.

To this day, Luxaflex® continues to innovate and expand its product portfolio, with textiles playing an increasingly important role. The durable Duette® Shades, the exclusive Silhouette® Shades and the range of (folding) curtains are now as much a part of Luxaflex® as the horizontal blinds that started it all.
In addition to indoor blinds and window coverings, Luxaflex® Outdoor products are also part of the brand. "These are made in Eindhoven, at a location that has over sixty years of experience in making beautiful, innovative and high-quality outdoor blinds," says Silvia Jagtenberg. "That adds to the rich history of the Luxaflex® brand."

"In the coming years, the outside world can expect even more news and innovations from Luxaflex®," continued Silvia Jagtenberg, "especially in the areas of sustainability, circularity and the smart use of raw materials. The aluminum used by Luxaflex® consists of at least 95% recycled base material and has a Cradle to Cradle Bronze certificate. In the new textile product collections, more and more fabrics have Ökotex certification and with Sea-Tex™ Luxaflex® offers a fabric made from recycled ocean plastic. In the upcoming collection of vertical blinds, these 'green' fabrics take center stage."
Bamboo is another raw material that is going to appear more and more in Luxaflex® collections. "Bamboo is a type of grass that continues to grow after harvesting, produces a strong fiber with a wood structure and is therefore a very sustainable replacement for hardwood or cotton, for example," explains Silvia Jagtenberg. "In our Wood Blinds collection, bamboo slats are available. The bamboo comes from special plantations with a minimal footprint. The Duette® Shades collection includes fabrics that incorporate 25% bamboo fiber. A trend, as the upcoming collections focus more and more on circularity."
'New, stylish fabrics for atmospheric ambience and improved acoustics'
Vertical blinds can significantly reduce glare and optimize privacy and light in the home. The Vertical Blinds collection from Luxaflex® has been expanded with new colors, fabrics and designs. If fabric blinds are chosen, this window decoration can also be supplied with the smart PowerView® Automation control.
"With the launch of an entirely new and contemporary range of Vertical Blinds, Luxaflex® has reinvented this classic," observes Maartje Knipscheer, Project Coordinator for Collections, Concept & Styling at Luxaflex®. "New plastic slats, Cradle to Cradle fabrics and aluminum slats composed of 98% recycled materials combine to give this collection a fresh and sustainable boost. In addition, some of these aluminum slats feature the Pure Sense finish, which is characterized by a unique paint technology. The slats are then matte lacquered with a soft coating. They are available in modern pastel shades."
"This stylish and practical window covering takes up very little space when fully opened," continues Maartje Knipscheer. "This allows end users to enjoy maximum unobstructed views and free passage, especially with larger windows such as sliding doors and glass facades. Incidence of light and privacy can be optimized because the slats can be adjusted in small increments."
Luxaflex® continuously develops its collections to offer ever better everyday interior solutions. "The new, stylish fabrics Riff and Sedna are the latest innovation," says Maartje Knipscheer. "They are specially designed to improve acoustics in the home by absorbing ambient noise and reverberation. In addition, vertical blinds help regulate heat and light in the home, making them an energy-efficient and sustainable form of indoor shading. The collection of fabrics used in vertical blinds meets the highest international standards for sustainability and responsible use of materials, and a number of fabrics are Cradle to Cradle, GreenGuard or OEKO-TEX® certified."
"For every type of window, Luxaflex® offers stylish and innovative control options, such as the smart control system PowerView® Automation," adds Silvia Jagtenberg. "With this, blinds can be controlled from a smartphone, Pebble® Remote or via a voice assistant. They can also be automatically tumbled and slid open or closed at any time and from anywhere, even when users are not at home. This system is applicable with all fabric blinds in this collection."
"A big advantage of vertical blinds is that they are very suitable for windows with special shapes," Maartje Knipscheer concludes. "They fit almost any shape or size window, especially on very tall or wide windows. The rails can also be angled, so vertical blinds are also suitable for angled windows."
