Today, a good terrace is more than just a few extra tables. Hospitality businesses are looking for comfort, atmosphere and security in changeable weather. The right awning solution makes a terrace more profitable, usable all year round and more pleasant for guests. Four hospitality businesses show how a well-considered choice really makes a difference.

When Thomas and Ellen took over Kwizien in early 2023, they wanted one thing above all: to make the terrace more profitable without sacrificing atmosphere. The solution became an all-weather terrace where six Brustor pergolas with slat roofs were installed. Six B200 XL slat roofs were connected:
- The louvers can tilt up to 130° for optimal sun and shade control;
- The canopy is rainproof, thanks to the integrated water drainage in the posts;
- Screens, LED lighting and up to 26 heaters ensure that the space is comfortable year-round;
- Seat capacity increases by 30%.
Guests arrive and really have a wow feeling. And most importantly, they like to stay put, regardless of the weather.

The location offers an open view of the landscape, but the terrace was too weather-dependent. The owners opted for a terrace canopy with a canvas roof. To cover the entire terrace, they connected two fabric roofs. The advantages of a B128P fabric roof terrace enclosure:
- The fabric has a tight tension, keeping it stable even in windy conditions;
- When the fabric is rolled up, the restaurant retains optimal light inside;
- The fixed structure provides a solid solution while maintaining an elegant and slender structure that is not visually intrusive, making this model ideal for compact terraces;
- LED lighting is neatly integrated into the profiles for subtle and ambient lighting.
Under the canopy, guests will now enjoy their lunch or dinner under shelter without worrying about the weather forecast.

Brasserie De Waterkant features one of the most idyllic terraces in Bruges, surrounded by water. For this location, the view of the water determines part of the dining experience of the guests. The choice to cover the terrace therefore fell on two B128 P pergolas with retractable fabric roofs that were seamlessly connected. Added value of this canopy for the manager:
- The retractable fabric roof makes the covered area flexible in changing weather conditions, as it can be easily opened or closed;
- The entire terrace has about 150 seats, some of which can be used comfortably year-round thanks to the canopy;
- The built-in patio heater ensures that the covered area can always be adjusted to the weather;
- The two linked modules create enough space for three large tables, together good for a total of 30 seats.
This canopy gives the freedom to adjust the patio any time to suit the weather.

Pacific Island Restaurant is completely surrounded by nature. The terrace is right on the water, which made facade mounting of an articulated screen above the terrace impossible. The manager opted for three Brustor Twinstors: freestanding installations with two coupled B25 articulated awnings each. The features of these three freestanding Twinstors for maximum dining experience:
- One Twinstor creates up to 42 m² of shade;
- In total, the arrangement provides more than 120 square meters of additional usable terrace;
- Because no parasol bases are required, no circulation space is lost;
- Both the cloth and the cabinet color can be fully personalized;
- In heavy rain, thanks to a sensor, the system closes automatically for optimal protection.
With three Twinstors, the company can seat 60 additional guests without changing the atmosphere.
Whether modular pergolas, tensioned fabric structures or freestanding shade solutions, each project shows how the right choice creates more seating, a better guest experience and a patio that pays off regardless of the season.
