Wood blinds.
Zonnelux presented its new collections of wood blinds, woven wood and slats during the Interior Collection Days in September. The collections were very well received, according to the company, and will be launched in the near future.
Woven wood
"The trend of the moment is woven wood," notes Zonnelux director Maurice Van Bladel. "More and more interior stylists are choosing this window decoration with its natural look and feel. The product filters daylight in a beautiful way." The woven wood is available in two weaves. With thin sticks, a lot of see-through is possible; with flat sticks, the see-through is in-between. As for the system, consumers can choose a roll-up or a folding curtain.
The collection consists of trendy colors finished with matte lacquer. The thin sticks and flat sticks version are both available in twenty colors. The colors of the mechanism and components are color-coordinated. For the dealer, Zonnelux has chosen large samples so that the product can be properly shown to the end customer.
Wooden blinds
Zonnelux's collection of wood blinds has also been updated and now consists of as many as 89 colors, with a good mix between lacquer, stain and bamboo colors. Zonnelux has added a large selection of gray and anthracite shades, and natural shades have also been included in the collection. The wooden blinds are available with slats of 25, 50 and 65 mm. In addition to the 25 and 38 mm ladder bands, Zonnelux has also added a 10 mm ladder band to the collection.
The Piet Boon wooden blinds (50 and 65 mm) are available in eight distinctive Piet Boon colors with matching ladder bands. In addition to the siding, the punch holes are also finished with a distinctive lacquering procedure. The Piet Boon blinds also feature sleek cord knobs and a wooden front frame.
Slats
"Textile blinds are hip again," Maurice Van Bladel observes in conclusion. "They provide good daylight and give the privacy the end user wants. They are ideal for large windows - up to six meters wide and three meters high - and can be easily cleaned." With 120 plastic, 54 textile and 39 aluminum slats, Van Bladel says the collection is back in tune with the times. "Extra advantage: as many as 50% of the collection is also available as panel or roller blinds, making it easy to combine these products!"
New colors and designs are available within the Twist® Roller Blinds collection.
Luxaflex®®, which bills itself as the market leader in window coverings, has introduced a number of new products in 2019. Over the summer, the innovative, metallized M-Screen Ultimetal® cloths introduced. The new generation of roller blinds includes more than 300 fabrics in four transparencies. In addition, a new collection of Twist® blinds with new colors and designs. Finally, Luxaflex®® renewed and expanded its collection of wooden blinds. Almost too many to mention!
Ideal solution for heat and reflection problems - Cloth constructed of 36% fiberglass and 64% vinyl
Some time ago, Luxaflex®® the new, innovative M-Screen Ultimetal® cloth from Hunter Douglas subsidiary Mermet introduced to its collection. This window covering eliminates light glare in screen or changing temperatures thanks to its metallized backing. "It makes M-Screen Ultimetal® extremely suitable for offices and public buildings," said Silvia Jagtenberg of Luxaflex® Netherlands.
Due to the metallized backing of the M-Screen Ultimetal® fabric, 83% of the solar energy is reflected.
Highest light reflection
The M-Screen Ultimetal® fabric is composed of 36% fiberglass and 64% vinyl and has a metallized backing. "This reflects 83% of the solar energy, which prevents unwanted overheating of the room," Silvia Jagtenberg explained. "Because of the high light reflection, this fabric also provides significant energy savings because there is less need for cooling in the summer and less heating in the winter."
Filtered light
For a productive working environment, a pleasant temperature and the right degree of light with a sharp view to the outside are important. The fabric of the M-Screen Ultimetal® therefore contains tiny holes for adequate light penetration and transparency. Light incidence is regulated by the fabric, filtering up to 97% of light rays. This filtering of solar rays allows total control of light glare on screens in an office, for example.
M-Screen Ultimetal® fabric is available in eight colors.
Suitable for public buildings
Through the use of fiberglass and vinyl in the M-Screen Ultimetal® cloth, a reduction in energy consumption can be achieved. This makes this window covering, according to Luxaflex®® extremely suitable for projects that need to meet high EPC requirements and sustainable certification systems such as BREEAM-NL and LEED in (public) buildings. In addition, this fabric is said to be fire retardant, low maintenance and water repellent.
The same effect as outdoor blinds
"That blinds don't just have to hang outside to prevent indoor overheating is proven by Luxaflex®® with the M-Screen Ultimetal® cloth," concludes Silvia Jagtenberg. "This window covering for indoors and meets equal standards as outdoor blinds with the same function. And it also looks good: due to its mechanistic resistance, this cloth hangs very well-shaped in the window frame and looks more solid than more robust PVC cloths."
The M-Screen Ultimetal® cloth is supplied by selected Luxaflex®® project dealers. Additional information can be found in an English-language brochure about this product or requested from Luxaflex® Netherlands.
Digital patterns in twelve colors
Luxaflex®® further introduces the new collection Twist® Roller Blinds. The collection is available in new colors and designs. In addition to stripes, circles and graphic prints, shiny and textured fabrics in a variety of colors and with new digital designs have now been designed.
The design team at Luxaflex®® has created four new digital patterns in 12 colors. "With shades such as earth green, pastel blue, powerful pink or mauve and the sophisticated patterns in flowing, natural shapes with leaves and dancing shadows or modernistic, angular lines, this window decoration gains extra elegance," Silvia Jagtenberg said. "These unique designs are featured on both the transparent and blackout strips of the Twist® fabrics printed and provide a stylish ensemble to match any interior style and taste."
For extra clear views, Luxaflex®® Twist® Roller blinds available with the new weaving techniques of ClearView™. The blackout strips can be slid in front of the transparent fabric to adjust light and privacy as desired and prevent glare. This fabric is available in ten colors exclusive to Luxaflex®® are designed.
Like regular roller blinds, Twist roller blinds can also be operated with the PowerView control system.® Motorization be operated. They can then be lowered or raised from any location and at any time by remote control, app or a smart assistant.
Elegant collection now available with PowerView® Motorization
Luxaflex®'s collection of wood blinds.® has been expanded with new designs and colors. In addition, the window coverings are now available with the smart control system PowerView® Motorization.
High quality woods
The new collection offers many exceptional woods in numerous colors and textures. "For example, the new Supreme Woods is made of the highest quality hardwood, where the natural beauty of the grain is at the heart of the design," explains Silvia Jagtenberg. In addition, the Wood Elements blinds are available in new colors.
These plastic blinds have wood textures with a warm accent and are perfectly resistant to moisture. All slats are available in widths 50 and 70 mm available, allowing the end user to determine how much sunlight is transmitted and how much privacy is desired.
Choose your own color
The collection has also expanded to include popular trend colors from deep black to Scandinavian clear wood. "There is a choice of gloss and matte finishes and unique patterns," Silvia Jagtenberg says of this. "For example, there are Shine slats with a strong gloss layer or Art slats with a subtle color gradient. There are endless finishes to choose from, as the slats come in any color you want."
in four transparencies
The Journal of Z&R 7 reported on the latest collection of roller blinds from Luxaflex®.®. It consists of more than 300 fabrics in four different transparencies. According to Luxaflex®® the fabrics have eye-catching, trendy designs and are also fabric-technical innovative, playing with light, atmosphere and texture and bringing a new dimension to interior design.
Luxaflex®'s collection of wood blinds is available in numerous designs, including wood patterns, of course, as well as opaque colors.

Especially with the many decorative options, such as cassettes and boning, window coverings become not only a light catcher, but also an eye-catcher!"

Roller blind fabric made from recycled ocean plastic
Luxaflex®® offers the opportunity to choose advanced, sustainable fabrics in this collection of roller blinds, such as GreenScreen Sea-Tex™ which is made from Bionic® Yarn. According to Luxaflex®® it is the world's first roller blind fabric made from recycled ocean plastic. The certified GreenGuard® fabrics meet stringent chemical emission standards and contribute to better indoor air quality, according to the company. The hardware in this roller blind collection is Cradle to Cradle Bronze Certified™, which means it was produced responsibly and with respect for nature. When multiple roller blinds are placed side by side, they fit together well and the light gap is as small as possible. "That gives the window coverings an extra sleek look," says Silvia Jagtenberg.
Smart control systems
The blinds are available with the patented LiteRise® control system from Luxaflex®®. This system is child- and pet-friendly and raises or lowers window coverings with a simple hand movement. In addition, the collection is available with PowerView® Motorization. JASNO shutters applied in a round bay window.
At the vtwonen & design fair held in Amsterdam in October, JASNO presented the completely new collection of shutters and wooden blinds to the general public for the first time. Another new feature is that from now on JASNO window coverings can be composed and ordered online.
New collection of shutters and blinds
Shutters and wooden blinds from JASNO are both made of Paulownia wood and available in the same colors. The collections therefore match seamlessly. In addition to the ever-popular shades of white and black, a selection of stylish interior colors have been included in the collections. JASNO's shutter collection has also been expanded to include the new slat size 76 mm. "This medium size is enormously popular in, for example, the United Kingdom," said JASNO director Jeroen Hermans.
Electric blinds available
"We have also completely overhauled the blinds collection," Hermans says. "For example, we now have ladder bands in three sizes: in addition to our standard size, we also have an extra narrow or extra wide band. What we are particularly happy about is that from now on we can also supply our blinds electrically, both with ladder cord and with ladder tape."
Specialist advice or online ordering
In the 3D configurator, the end user can put together a skylight shutter, folding blind, vertical slat or wooden blind as desired and order it online. It is also possible to save the configuration, share it with a dealer and leave the measuring and fitting to a professional. "With this, the end customer determines the desired level of service, at his own convenience," Hermans concludes.
erfal's new eACCU motors combine modern sun protection with powerful drive technology, according to the company. The innovative battery drive is available for both roller blinds, duo blinds, pleated blinds, honeycomb pleated blinds and Venetian blinds. Thanks to the lithium-ion battery, solar shading products with eACCU operate wirelessly and with a battery life of several months. Charging is done via a plug directly on the motor head or via a charging socket. Thanks to charge monitoring, the eROLLO ACCU can easily be charged both at night and during the day and still be operated at the same time. An innovative solar panel is available as an energy-saving alternative for charging support.
Roller blinds, duo roller blinds, pleated blinds and Venetian blinds with eACCU drive from erfal can be operated comfortably. This can be done with a remote control, by app via smartphone or tablet or by voice control systems, such as Alexa and Google Home.
The innovative eACCU technology is ready for use in a smart home. In addition to various remote controls, modern app operation as well as operation by voice control such as Alexa and Google Home is also available. Operation via the App-Box is done via a simple WiFi connection. Up to thirty products can be controlled via the App-Box. The eACCU product can thus be easily controlled on the go via smartphone or tablet. Thanks to bi-directional radio communication, a status report on the position of the systems is immediately sent to the control device. Other benefits in App operation include timer, astro function and individual scene setting.
Sun and vision protection products with eACCU drive are preset by erfal and installation is therefore simple, with no additional electrical installation or structural modifications.
Rollease Acmeda enables voice commands to indoor blinds and window coverings.
The story of Rollease Acmeda begins in 1980. Since then, the company has worked hard to become the world's largest, independent manufacturer and distributor of technical components in the window coverings industry to become a leader. To make that happen, Rollease Acmeda pursued continuous refinement and innovation in design and development of engineering components and their distribution within the industry.
The Rollease Acmeda Group says it is constantly investing in research, development and engineering, using the latest technologies to create solutions and meet the changing needs of customers and the industry through an ever-expanding product offering. "From fabrics to hardware and motorization, our Innovation & Design Center continues to push the boundaries of our productsn," said Letizia Martines, General Manager of the EMOA region.
New generation of motorized products
Rollease Acmeda recently launched its new generation of motorized products. According to the company, the new Automate product line offers leading-edge technology and exceptional user experiences. Designed and developed in the United States, this "next generation" product line includes an updated and innovative range of wireless li-ion motors, a modern remote control, an advanced solar panel and a new Pulse hub.
This Pulse 2 hub, according to Rollease Acmeda, not only stands out for its modern design with its slanted exterior, but also introduces the latest smart home integrations. Pulse 2 offers more possibilities than ever, according to the company, for example, to create your own shade in the home with voice-controlled integration via Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Smart Things, IFTTT and Apple Homekit with Siri.
The new motorization, controlled by Rollease Acmeda's proprietary, bi-directional communication technology ARC (Automate Radio Communication), was developed and designed with a clear focus on design, technology, reliability and function. Due to improvements in the shape of the motor head - for which a patent has been filed - it remains invisible to the untrained eye after installation.
Rollease Acmeda's new Wire-Free series also hides the once-visible antenna by wrapping the cable around the perimeter of the slim motor head. The li-ion-powered motors require no electrical wiring, no external battery and no complicated installation. Automate thus offers a complete range of 0.2 Nm to 50 Nm motors with maximum flexibility for any application, according to Rollease Acmeda.
Design Roll blinds are available in XXL sizes to give even room-high windows a minimalist look.
VALO is an ambitious start-up that wants to give blinds a completely new dimension. Inspirers are Louis and Aline Breemersch, the fifth generation within the family business based in Roeselare, Belgium. "Our architectural interior blinds integrate seamlessly to emphasize the clean lines of a building," Aline Breemersch explains. "VALO guarantees outstanding craftsmanship and makes all products in its own workshop in Roeselare."
Minimalist Design Roll
The electric Design Roll roller blind, which competed for the Z&R Product of the Year Award early this year, is a strong example of innovation, according to Louis and Aline Breemersch. The motor of this electric roller blind is invisibly incorporated into the curtain tube. That patented technology combines VALO with a minimum space of 1.5 cm between the curtain and the wall. The result is an extremely sleek unit that keeps the sun out almost completely. The technology in Design Roll can also be linked to home automation systems to always control the ideal incidence of light.
VALO's electric Design Roll roller blind has a minimalist, clean and stylish design and a gap of only one and a half inches between the curtain edge and the wall.
Thoughtful finishing
The blinds are available in XXL sizes to give even room-high windows a minimalist look. The fabrics are top quality, Louis and Aline Breemersch emphasize. Only cloths that filter UV light are used to prevent discoloration. With heat, sound and fire-retardant features, Design Roll is the perfect roller blind for the home or office, according to VALO.
Alkenz screen fabrics have been exclusively distributed in Europe for many years by Solaye Fabrics, as the only company in Europe supplying this indoor blinds and window decoration. In recent years, Solaye Fabrics has expanded its sales area, significantly increased its stocks and added some new cloths to the range.
Perfect glare control with clear cloth
At first glance, their newest screen cloth Chameleon looks like any other cloth. "But in fact this is the only cloth on the market that achieves a light transparency of 4% with an openness factor of 3% and in a white color, and this without alu-bedamping," said Stephan Martens of Solaye Fabrics. "Until now, perfect glare control was only obtained with a dark cloth. Now it can also be done with three light colors: white, white-beige and white-pearl gray."
PVC-free screens
This year, Solaye Fabrics launched its Purolux collection. They are PVC-free screens that have been awarded Cradle to Cradle certification because of the sustainable production process. The screens are available in widths of 250 and 300 cm and in seven colors.
Alu-clad indoor blinds
At Solaye Fabrics, we note that alu-damped fabrics continue to gain in importance. Sunshadow 3000 CA ALU is a lightweight cloth with a window side that is alu-embossed. "In terms of performance, these cloths stand out head and shoulders above the rest," Martens observes. "The reflection values reach up to 74%. This makes Sunshadow 3000 CA ALU the best performing cloth in terms of sun protection. For this, aesthetics are not compromised: the cloths remain light and extremely elegant." Sunshadow 3000 CA ALU cloths are 150, 235 or 285 cm wide and available in all colors.
Collection expanded
Starting in 2020, Solaye Fabrics expands its cloth collection with Sunshadow 3000 N 1%, 3% and 5%, available in ten colors. The Sunshadow 2000 N 3% line remains available in five colors. "This way we can meet our customers' needs even better," Martens emphasizes.
Larger warehouse
Solaye Fabrics continues to grow. "That is why the storage capacity in Ypres will be increased once again in 2020 in order to have more rolls in stock to meet the ever-increasing demand," Stephan Martens concludes. "And in the meantime, we are already working hard on the collection for 2021!"

Therefore, with the SMART collection, dealers have an answer to Internet suppliers and price-fighters." The SMART collection includes roller blinds, duo blinds, Duplis and pleated shades, wood blinds and aluminum and vertical blinds. "Moreover, the SMART collection especially offers a choice of beautiful materials and colors, so the SMART product guarantees a beautiful end result," Claes concludes.
