Pol-Mar-Plast: 'A wide range of sunscreens, something for everyone'

While many and large glass windows are used in modern construction, one of the ways to save energy is to cut cooling costs. This requires solutions to keep homes and buildings cool on warmer days. The demand for solar shading will therefore remain as high as ever. Partly for this reason, Pol-Mar-Plast (PMP) has invested significantly in optimizing and expanding its range of awnings and screens, among other things.

For this reason, and because outdoor living continues to become more important, Pol-Mar-Plast has greatly expanded its range of awnings in 2019 by acquiring the articulated awning division of the Dessol brand. As a result, Pol-Mar-Plast now has a wide range of articulated awnings that offers something for everyone. "We are happy with our drastically broadened range," said Pol-Mar-Plast general manager Kristof Blyau. "We set the goal several years ago to offer a wide range of awnings, so that we would have a suitable screen in the range for every budget, every home and every taste. This is also the reason we can offer different cabinets and end finishes."

PMP's range of articulated awnings includes six products: the budget-friendly solutions Solinti and Soliva with a projection of up to 3 m, the Frevo with a small, fully enclosed cassette with sleek design, the larger screens Solena and Solution with a respective projection of up to 3.5 m and 4 m and lengths of up to 7 m - coupled even up to 14 m - and the Solage, a screen without a cassette, which Blyau says is ideal for the project market. "All of our awnings are produced completely to the customer's requirements and can be mounted in almost any situation due to their design. We can even offer screens with 4 m projection and linkable up to 14 m wide, which we did not previously have in the range."

All Pol-Mar-Plast awnings are equipped with Somfy IO motors as standard. In addition, Somfy's WT and RTS motors are also available. For the cloths, the end customer can choose from the cloth collections of Dickson and Sattler.

Investing in the future

Pol-Mar-Plast has for some time been located in new premises at Industriezone Groenbek in Waregem. PMP has modern and spacious production facilities and offices there, as well as a functional training room. "All our awnings are manufactured in Pol-Mar-Plast's own modern equipped factory in Waregem and delivered to dealers from there. The production is efficiently arranged, with sufficient space for machines and workstations, which improves productivity," Blyau said. A new warehouse facilitates the storage of stock and the smooth shipment by our own trucks of finished products to PMP dealers."
