Our Satiné 5500 fabric is once again in the spotlight thanks to this iconic project by solar shading manufacturer Resstende Srl. Which designed and installed 1,280 motorized outdoor screens in the four buildings of the new Waterfront di Levante residential complex in Genoa, Italy.
This urban renewal project, designed by architecture studios Renzo Piano Building Workshop and OBR, transforms the back of the harbor into a new urban waterfront and bridges the gap between city and sea that had been created by postwar harbor development.
These buildings required shading matched to the geometry of their facades. To meet the needs of the architects, the Resstende team developed motorized external blinds of the Dallas 110 model, with our Satiné 5500 fabric in M02 White Turquoise Sand. These blinds are distinguished by their exclusive design and seamless integration into facades. Whether open or closed, they are an integral part of the building's architecture.
The color of the structures, including the cassette and base, is RAL 9006 gray, harmoniously combined with the selected fabric, which has three different
contains colors of yarns - white, turquoise and sand - creating a double-tone effect: more blue on the outside and more gray on the inside.
With an openness factor of 4%, Satiné 5500 provides excellent visual comfort. It counteracts glare, maintains a virtually unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape and provides optimal protection against overheating. It is also highly resistant to wind and moisture, essential advantages given its proximity to the sea.
Resstende's shading systems combine aesthetics and functionality, and their meticulous installation reflects the company's dedication to making this project a success. It is not only a technical achievement, but also a valuable asset to the city of Genoa.
Available in 52 double-sided colors and 4 widths, the fabric offers:
Mermet fabrics prove to be THE ideal solution by guaranteeing an excellent level of thermal performance combined with optimal visual comfort. In addition, they give building facades a modern appearance.
