With the introduction of Soltis 7635, Serge Ferrari is responding to the increasing demand for fiberglass cloth that meets the high standards of sun protection specialists. With the consolidation of fiberglass cloth suppliers, many companies are looking for a reliable product from another supplier. Soltis 7635 provides this and also offers additional advantages in terms of processing, aesthetics and durability thanks to the application of Smart Yarn Technology.

The sun protection industry is facing increasing demands for aesthetics, durability and technical comfort. Serge Ferrari, manufacturer of innovative composite materials, is responding to this. Founded in 1973, the company focuses on sun protection, textile architecture, modular structures and furniture applications and has an R&D team of fifty specialists.

"There is a clear demand for high-quality fiberglass cloth that meets the requirements of today's market and also offers processing and usage advantages," said Marcos Santos, Key Account Manager Solar Protection Benelux. "Soltis 7635 is our answer to this: a fiberglass cloth developed with our Smart Yarn Technology that meets the needs of our customers."
Thanks to this Smart Yarn Technology, the yarns do not fray when cut. This ensures a tight finish without hemming, simplifies the confection process and reduces the amount of residual material in the workshop. Santos: "That means our customers spend less time cleaning. We get a lot of positive feedback about that."
The fabric offers high mechanical resistance: 300 DaN/5 cm (warp) and 250 DaN/5 cm (weft), with a tear resistance of 20 and 18 DaN, respectively. The improved light fastness guarantees color retention in both light and dark shades, even with prolonged exposure to sunlight. The color palette includes 23 shades that match the most commonly used RAL colors for aluminum window and façade profiles, which facilitates combining with façade systems.

Although Soltis 7635 offers many advantages over other fiberglass fabrics and responds perfectly to current market demand, Serge Ferrari is convinced that the future lies with products such as Veozip. Developed specifically for zip applications, this fabric (without fiberglass) has a natural look and feel and offers incomparable outward visibility. However, Veozip requires a different method of confection, and the market is not yet fully geared to it. "We see that the step to Veozip is still big for many customers, but we are convinced that this is the direction in which the market is moving," Santos said.
Both cloths are designed with ease of processing and a sleek end result in mind. The introduction of Soltis 7635 is a direct result of the investments Serge Ferrari has made in recent years in further developing the Smart Yarn Technology and expanding the Batyline product group, of which this cloth is also a part.
The cloths are produced with Smart Yarn Technology, which ensures dimensional stability and shape retention. Soltis 7635 also meets strict international fire safety standards (including Euroclass 7635: C-s3,d0, Veozip: B-s2,d0) and carries the Greenguard Gold certification for indoor air quality.
