With the updated screen program and the new outdoor blind, Alukon from Konradsreuth may justifiably be considered a specialist in sun protection. Known for its strong program of roller shutters and roller doors, the German quality brand is now also conquering the hearts of solar shading in the Netherlands.
"That not all screens and exterior blinds look alike is proven by the clever technology and eye-catching optics of our products," says Hans Becks, sales manager Benelux for Alukon. He talks about the difference Alukon likes to make in a market that is in a state of flux.
Large screen areas with convenient mounting
With the introduction of the updated Zip Tex system, Alukon has introduced a more than mature zipper screen to the market. Hans Becks lists the strengths. "The new, two-piece guide has a nice, narrow appearance. Installation is easy thanks to the two-part guide and maintenance of the system or changing the fabric in case of service are also very easy. The system is extremely stable, which is why Alukon supplies the Zip Tex up to as much as 18 m2. Those who want to go even bigger can opt for a coupled version of the Zip Tex."
The construction of the Zip Tex seals so well that screens of this type can also be used as insect protection. "For mounting on the wall, Alukon offers three extruded cabinets in straight, angled and round versions, in various sizes and in a RAL color of your choice.
Those who like built-in cabinets are also at their beck and call. "Alukon's expertise in built-in systems comes from developments in the roller shutter field," Becks explains. "Alukon has paid a lot of attention to seamless integration into or on the facade, and you can see that translated into the Zip Tex. Another great feature of this screen is that when raised, the bottom frame almost completely disappears into the box. That makes the Zip Tex very suitable for situations with outward-turning windows, where only limited space is available above the window sashes."

The Zip Tex system is extremely stable and is therefore used by Alukon up to 18 m2 delivered.
Convenience serves man
The new Raff-E exterior blind was also developed by Alukon with a focus on convenience. "Whether it's measuring in, fitting or providing service, Alukon had set as a design requirement that this should be as easy as with roller shutters," Becks said. The Raff-E is delivered ready-made in one box, as a working system in a casing, with two guides included. On site, the fitter need do no more than plug the casing with the legs of the side cover onto the guides. "Once mounted on the facade - exactly the same as you mount a roller shutter - it's a matter of connecting and putting it into operation," Becks explains.
Thanks to a service cover that can be opened by loosening two screws, the Raff-E offers quick and convenient access to the interior. "Service work is made easier with this," Becks observes. "Useful when large sizes are involved. Consider that the Raff-E can be delivered up to 400 cm wide and 450 cm high. Then it's nice to know that assembly and service go smoothly." With the ease of assembly and service, Alukon hopes to accommodate precisely those fitters who are especially experienced in installing shutters and screens. "It makes Alukon awnings the logical choice for the trade," Becks said.

In the new generation of the Zip Tex from Alukon, a number of technical innovations have been implemented: the two-part side guide of the Zip Tex has a narrower appearance and, if necessary, a plaster can be placed against it. Disassembly for maintenance remains possible in all cases.
