A renowned sun protection specialist such as markilux is constantly striving to improve. After all, standing still means falling behind. Recent examples of this drive to innovate include the further development of the markilux 970 cassette awning and a new mounting rail called "panel," which simplifies the installation of sun protection systems.

To accentuate the simple design of the markilux 970, the color spectrum of all coScreen components are now matched to ‘non-colors.’ Previously, the front panel was available in striking accent colors in addition to the seven lounge colors of the frame. “We are now switching to frame colors ranging from white to beige to gray, anthracite, or brown,” says Gerling. “This gives the screen a businesslike yet elegant look.” These colors can be freely combined for the cassette and front panel. In addition, there are three anodized colors: silver, light bronze, and black, with a brushed, slightly textured look. Matching fabrics are available for the anodized colors to emphasize the businesslike yet elegant style of the screen.

Fabric manufacturing is precision work. The screen fabric must fit exactly into the screen so that it can be rolled in and out smoothly around the fabric tube. Markilux therefore uses high-tech machines for cutting, gluing, and sewing the fabric strips. Nevertheless, fifty employees are still involved in manufacturing, partly to meet special manufacturing requirements.
Markilux uses cutting machines that operate with ultrasonic technology to produce attractive, clean edges that facilitate the gluing or stitching of the fabric strips. They are mainly used for standard products with a maximum fabric width of 120 cm. A specially developed cutting manager ensures optimal use of the material.
