Combines effective heat protection with blackout in a modern design
The new electrically operated VELUX INTEGRA® blackout outdoor blinds (type SSS) combine effective heat protection with blackout. The modern design integrates perfectly on the skylight, is solar powered and remotely operable with a factory pre-connected wall control. This makes installation and operation quick and easy.
The VELUX blackout outdoor awning is new to the VELUX heat protection range. Thanks to its weather-resistant fabric, the new blackout shade 85% combines heat protection with effective blackout for a good night's sleep, in one product.

With the arrival of the new blackout exterior blinds, the complete platform VELUX INTEGRA® exterior awnings and shutters improved. With slimmer side guides and a sleek, smaller top cover with fully integrated solar cell, the awnings are now even more discreet on the roof and offer even more natural light and views inside. The faster and quieter motor provides greater comfort.
The importance of solar shading has increased dramatically in recent years. With increasingly hot summers and better insulated homes, the risk of overheating has increased. Darkening exterior blinds help prevent overheating. This makes them ready for upcoming building regulations to combat the risk of overheating in homes (TOJuly). The blinds are placed on the pivoting part of the skylight, so they can be opened even when the blinds are down. This means that airing is still possible. By applying the exterior blinds during the day and combining them with summer night cooling at night, the temperature in the house can be kept pleasant in a cheap and energy-efficient way.

The VELUX INTEGRA® blackout outdoor blinds are solar powered and remotely operable with a pre-connected wall control. They are mounted from the inside, making both installation and operation quick and easy. For automatic operation, heat protection and ventilation, the electric INTEGRA® blackout outdoor blinds can be connected to VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO. This smarthome automation system always creates an optimal indoor climate. Sensors, which measure temperature, humidity and CO2-concentration, determine in combination with the weather forecast whether opening or closing skylights and external blinds improves the indoor climate. In addition, the VELUX ACTIVE app can connect to Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant products and voice assistant Siri for easy control.
The blackout outdoor blinds, like the other VELUX outdoor blinds and shutters, bear the HR Ready label, an initiative of Romazo Garant. This quality label indicates that products contribute to a comfortable indoor climate and the sustainability of a home by reducing energy consumption. To carry the HR Ready label, products must meet several strict requirements in terms of heat and wind resistance, and the manufacturing process must also meet certain standards. To this end, VELUX blackout external blinds have been tested via a HR audit carried out by the Stichting Keurmerk Gevel (SKG) on the basis of the SKG quality requirements 700 for HR Solar Protection.

With the expansion of the heat protection range, there is a VELUX shading product to suit every customer need. The all-round protective shutter remains the most effective year-round solution, with additional features such as an insulating effect in winter, optimum blackout and rain and hail contact noise reduction. The new blackout outdoor blinds are a particularly interesting alternative for the summer months, as they combine the two main functions of heat protection and blackout. For rooms that require effective heat protection but need daylight and views, the outdoor sun protection with transparent screen fabric is the perfect solution. All shading products can be combined with window decoration, for daylight regulation or creating your own atmosphere, and insect screens.
