RENSON FIXSCREEN IS 15!

Renson's Fixscreen cloth awning is 15! No better time to celebrate than on January 15, 2020 at Polyclose, thought Renson. In 2005 Renson introduced its Fixscreen to the sun protection market. In the meantime, 15 years on, the Fixscreen is looking to the future, because if it is up to Renson, the Fixscreen still has many years ahead of it. This is proven by the Fixscreen Minimal, which is the next step in the - already - rich Fixscreen history.

2005: the very beginning

Let's go back to 2005, when Renson launched the Fixscreen on the market. "At the time, it distinguished itself as an outdoor sunshade primarily in terms of wind resistance and tight fabric tension," says Renson's Business Development Manager for Screens Els Vandaele. "It was the first fabric awning of its kind in which the fabric fixes into the side guides through zippers. As a result, wind resistance increased enormously in one fell swoop and it was done with flapping and torn screen cloths."

"That screen awnings were the most efficient way to prevent indoor overheating made sense even then. The higher wind resistance of the zipper screens ensured that screen awnings also had a longer lifespan from then on and we were able to offer seven-year guarantees on the Fixscreen technology to our customers. Moreover, since then insects also no longer have a chance to invade when windows are left open at night to provide - with the screen fabric down - intensive ventilation."

Since the introduction of the Fixscreen, window sizes have continued to increase and the importance of dynamic shading has only grown. In winter and in-between seasons, free solar heat can be maximized, while screens in summer prevent houses or buildings from heating up too much. According to Renson, the fact that the view to the outside is maintained with lowered screens has quickly proven to be an asset of screen sun protection that should not be underestimated compared to roller shutters.    υ

Because even then Renson was a strong innoverend company, the Fixscreen technology, according to Els Vandaele, soon formed the basis of numerous new developments to also be able to equip other than standard windows (up to sizes as large as 22 m²) with fabric sun protection. For example, Renson has Topfix and Topfix Max for veranda roofs and roof windows, Panovista and Panovista Max for corner (sliding) windows, and Slidefix for sliding windows and patio doors. "Each of these products distinguish themselves in the true Fixscreen tradition through: durability, wind resistance - up to 130 km/h for Fixscreen and 90 km/h for Panovista Max-, Fixscreen zipper technology with a 7-year warranty, Smooth Technology for noiseless movement and perfect fabric tension, and the Connect&Go system for smooth assembly or disassembly of the fabric roll in the box."

From Fixscreen to Fixscreen Minimal

That the focus has increasingly shifted to design in (vertical) fabric awnings as well has not escaped Renson's notice all along. Whether in front or recessed versions, the company constantly strives to design all aluminum fabric boxes and side guides to the highest standards of design and finish.

Also with regard to installation methods, Renson has strived all along to keep up with the times. The result is that a screen awning can nowadays be built into any facade almost invisibly, regardless of the construction method.
