Advanced mesh technology for simplicity and reliability radio system enables communication between motors

The simple operation of roller shutters and blinds is an important pillar for Becker Benelux. With the introduction of CentronicPlus, now two years ago, the latest generation of motors and controls became even more advanced and user-friendly. In this, mesh technology plays an important role.

Becker engineers strive to continually improve what is good. For eighteen years, the company already did this within the framework of the Centronic technology. This program was easily adjustable and was extended and improved over the years, including obstacle detection, upward-sliding safety devices and fabric relief.

In 2022, the control and drive specialist made the switch to CentronicPlus. The basis is still Centronic technology, but it has been further refined and optimized. The wireless system uses a mesh network to ensure a strong and stable connection anywhere in the home. This technology offers not only reliable operation, but also security and extended range, even in larger projects with status reports.

The new tubular motors are equipped with both receivers, Centronic and CentronicPlus, allowing both Centronic-II transmitters and CentronicPlus transmitters to be taught and operated. With the home control unit CC41 it is possible to control both systems effortlessly, and the CentralControl App allows operation of blinds and shutters with smartphone and/or tablet. This is also possible outdoors and users receive correct status notifications.

The C12 sun protection motor also now features the Centronic Plus control system and is therefore now called C12 PLUS. Philippe Goossens of Becker Benelux: "The new C12 PLUS is equipped with the CentronicPlus receiver, which enables bi-directional communication. This means that the drive can feed back status information, such as position and any blockages. It communicates with the various sensor systems about sun, wind and rain. At the same time, it continuously adjusts the torque and stop force, always following the motto: as hard as necessary, but as soft as possible. This contributes to a longer life of the blinds and improved user experience."
