Winsol: 'The SO! Universe is a patio canopy for everyone'

Winsol, with its SO! Universe, Winsol wanted to bring a new dimension to outdoor living by allowing consumers to create the outdoor living space of their dreams. From patio cover to pool house or garden office, anything is possible in and with the SO! Universe, according to Winsol. 

Endless personalization

A customized outdoor space requires numerous options and possibilities to design it the way the end user wants. Winsol has recently added a number of novelties to its range to make that possible: from basic structure to roof type, insulating (sliding) windows, and durable wooden walls. 

Three roof types

The SO! range already included a slatted roof. Winsol recently added two roof types to it, so that everyone can stay under the roof sheltered from the sun, wind and rain in any situation. 

• The SO! Classic slat roof protects from the sun but, thanks to the tilting slats, allows ventilation when the heat threatens to linger under the roof. Using the Solar Tracker app, the end user decides at what times to tilt the slats and provide the desired amount of shade or ventilation. 
• The new SO! Climate slats connect seamlessly to the gutter in the closed position. This seals the roof airtight and makes the patio roof completely rain and windproof. These slats are optionally available with built-in sound insulation, which dampens the tapping of rain. 
• Also new is the SO! Cocoon roof. This fixed wooden roof has a flat ceiling made of poplar wood. Thanks to its design and the insulating panels on top, it is completely wind and watertight. 

For outdoor living spaces consisting of multiple modules, different roof types can be used side by side. For example, consider a pool house, where an SO! Climate can be combined with a SO! Cocoon can be combined. It allows end users to enjoy the sun under the slatted roof and find optimal protection from rain and wind under the insulated roof. 

Closing the patio cover

To serve end users who want to enjoy a fully enclosed patio enclosure, Winsol offers a choice of no less than twelve ambient walls. Each has its own level of insulation and is available in the color of the patio cover. 

Winsol offers the following mood walls: 

• The aluminum fixed double-glazed window
• The steellook aluminum fixed double-glazed window
• The Cocoon wall made of real wood
• The SolFix recessed screen
• The aluminum sliding double-glazed window
• The Perspective lifting wall with three glass panels
• Outdoor Curtains
• The frameless sliding glass wall with single glass 
• The frameless sliding glass wall with single glass and steellook finish
• The motorized or non-motorized Ambiente slatted wall
• The Verso-Tex sliding wall with double screen fabric
• The wooden sliding wall with screen cloth

All walls can be combined with each other, allowing Winsol to offer something for everyone in its range. 

Creating atmosphere

The SO! Universe can be equipped with a number of technological accessories that allow consumers to finish their outdoor living space as they wish. Those accessories range from lighting to speakers and USB charging points: 

• Dimmable LED strip with direct (warm) white light (all around)
• Dimmable LED strip with direct white light, adjustable cold-warm (all around)
• Indirect RGB light, with choice of 16 million color variations (all around)
• Dimmable spotlights in the side beams, roof and/or slats
• Dimmable LED starry sky in the roof and/or slats
• 2 or 4 stereo Bluetooth speakers
• Sockets
• USB charging points
• Design control knobs

The SO! Universe offers many possibilities to design a terrace roof according to the end user's wishes. At Winsol, they are therefore proud to have received a Red Dot Design Award for this concept on June 19.
