Winsol: 'A hospitality terrace for all seasons'

Windproof and insulating Climate louvers

Winsol expanded the number of roof types for its patio covers from one to three earlier this year. One of the two new options are the windproof and insulating Climate slats. When closed, they connect seamlessly to the gutter, providing a completely windproof seal on the patio cover. To further increase comfort, these slats are available with built-in sound insulation. Great for muffling the sound of falling raindrops on the slats so that normal conversation remains possible. Furthermore, these slats are completely waterproof thanks to a discreetly integrated rain drain and a windproof connection to the rain gutters. 

The hospitality operator can control the degree of shade or light incidence under the slatted roof by manually opening or closing the aluminum slats, Costenoble said. "But control can also be taken over by an automatic motor. Certain criteria are then set in the Solar Tracker app based on which the motor makes the slats follow the position of the sun." 

Fixed wooden roof for extra coziness

Also new to the Winsol range is the SO! Cocoon fixed roof. This consists of two layers, namely a wooden ceiling - made of poplar wood available in three shades - on the bottom and an insulating panel 80 mm thick on the top. Between the two elements there is space to promote air circulation. A discreetly integrated water drain is also provided in this roof type. It, together with the insulating panel, prevents cold outside air and water from entering the patio cover through the roof. "This is how we ensure that the SO! Cocoon roof is completely water- and airtight," explains Costenoble. 

SO! Combi

If a lot of space is needed and a patio canopy is not enough, several modules with different roofs can be linked together. For example, the Climate slats can be seamlessly combined with the SO! Cocoon fixed roof. "With insulating ambient walls, LED lighting - including the starry sky - and a sound system, a Winsol hospitality canopy can be further dressed up to give customers a top-notch experience," concludes Xavier Costenoble.
