Sleek design combined with excellent thermal comfort

In recent years, everyone wants a home with large windows bathed in natural light. To ensure that it does not get too hot in the house during sunny weather, sun protection specialist Soprofen has pushed the dimensional limits within the screen market and designed a high-performance and sleek ZIP screen in XXL size.

According to the predictions of the IPCC climate models, over the course of the 21st century, the Earth's temperature will increase by 0.3 to 1.7°C under the most favorable conditions and by 2.6 to 4.8°C under the not-so-favorable scenario. In any case, this increase will amplify extreme weather events such as heat waves. Installing screens is one of the most efficient ways to combat overheating and avoid energy-consuming air conditioning. The fabric of the new SCREENAMAX filters up to 97% of the sun's rays which ensures that most of the heat is kept out.

Exclusive and compact

The new SCREENAMAX ZIP Screen uses the smallest case (extruded aluminum) on the market combined with the exclusive patented shaft system called Zoomtech®. This system guarantees that the shaft never deflects and makes it possible to create awnings up to 7 meters in a super small case, with a completely tight fabric without folds.

"The SCREENAMAX is available in two cabinet sizes: an 85 mm cabinet for windows up to 6 m wide and 2.30 m high, or a 105 mm cabinet for windows up to 7 m wide and 4 m high. The slim, sleek design fits harmoniously into all architectural styles, including verandas and pergolas," says Grégory Albert, Market Manager Solar Protection and Window Products at Soprofen.  

Sublime finish

The finish is also impeccable, with no visible screws on the cabinet, bottom rail or guides. The choices are extensive. The frame (cabinet, bottom rail and guides) is available as standard in 15 colors and 3 finishes, but you can optionally choose from the full RAL color chart (at no extra cost from 4 pieces upwards). The highly resistant "seaside" powder coating (for protection in coastal areas) is also available as an option. As for the screen fabric, you can choose from more than 300 models from different fabric suppliers and in different degrees of blackout. And thanks to the ZIP system and the pre-bent Zoomtech® shaft, the fabric always stays perfectly taut, even in windy conditions.

Solar-powered motorization for greater comfort

In addition to the familiar wired or radio-controlled motors (compatible with existing home automation systems if desired), the new zip-screen can also be equipped with an ultra-thin photovoltaic panel that captures solar energy and stores it in a built-in battery. This guarantees autonomous operation for 45 days without sunlight, with one up/down cycle per day. The installation is quick and practical for both new construction and renovation projects, with no interior or exterior breaking. "The solar-powered motorization is available for screens up to 5 m wide and already accounts for more than 65% of our sales," explains Gregory Albert.
