"As one has come to expect from ROMA, we have a wide range of options for incorporating our zipSCREEN," said Toon van Osta, director of ROMA Benelux. "We have the RAzip system and the PURO 2.XR ZIP. The latter can be combined with a fly screen and fall-through protection. The beauty of a PURO 2.XR system is that the cabinet can be planned by the architect and then, when ordering, you can choose between zipSCREEN, roller shutter or exterior blind."
ROMA also has a sophisticated screen solution for all-glass corners - corner windows without corner post. Such an installation has a motor drive in the element on one corner side which, by means of special spiral gears, transfers the up and down movement from the driven to the screen located around the corner.
"This tapered transmission ensures transmission without counteracting forces and very low noise generation," Van Osta states. The two sub-elements of the corner screen are suspended and fixed in a special corner console. In combination with box profiles with stepped holes, this screen system can also be mounted on a glass curtain wall, for example.
The bottom frames of the two elements of the corner screen are positioned exactly opposite each other at the corner and then fastened together. "Easy assembly and disassembly of the fabric is also guaranteed in this system," assures Van Osta. The maximum area of the entire corner system with two screens is 21 m². The maximum width of one of the two elements is 4000 mm, the total width of both elements together 6000 mm. The maximum height is 3500 mm.
The F 50 zipSCREEN.2 is ROMA's solution for glass curtain walls and narrow window frames. "The center guide is only 50 mm wide, easy to measure and quick to install," said Van Osta. "We only need the center-to-center dimensions. The so-called 'Hinterluftung,' the space behind and above the screen box to dissipate the accumulated heat between fabric and glass, makes this the No. 1 among zip versions for heat protection!"
The F 50 system is equipped with the new ROMA inlet system. "A Teflon lining of the inlet for the zipper ensures minimal zipper friction," Van Osta explains. "The metal springs made of high-quality spring steel ensure perfect fabric tension. The new spring system offers the possibility of providing a low, wide screen with more springs per running meter so that the maximum possible fabric tension can be generated. A narrow, high screen requires fewer springs per running meter, so friction can be minimized even further. Furthermore, the upper spring is designed in such a way that it is possible to remove the inlet from the guide very easily."
The ROMA zipSCREEN.2 can also be fitted with mosquito netting. The maximum dimension is 4000 x 3500 mm. They are often used at loading docks or for sealing large openings at food production plants. "The double bottom frame with rubber ensures a perfect seal at the bottom," concludes Toon van Osta.
