Harol: 'Upgrading a patio cover with wooden or glass sliding walls'

The Dutch and Belgians like to spend as much time as possible outside. They prefer to enjoy their garden or terrace for as long as possible, even in the autumn. Harol offers two types of sliding walls that allow consumers to comfortably enjoy a patio cover and outdoor life in the evening or during the colder months.

Stylish and durable

Protection from wind and weather, a cosy atmosphere and extra privacy? "Then a wooden sliding wall from Harol is a perfect extension of a patio enclosure to enjoy the outdoors all year round," observes marketing manager Isabelle Wintmolders. "The stylish wooden sliding walls are weather-resistant and ideal for closing off the sides of the patio cover, blocking out sun and rain and creating a warm and cozy atmosphere."

The wooden sliding walls are made of environmentally friendly thermowood, a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood. Harol uses European softwood for this and heats it in an oven for a long time, changing its structure. This gives it the same appearance, sustainable properties and functionalities as hardwood, but its ecological footprint is very small.

The wooden sliding wall is made up of slats. By default, the wood is visible on both sides, but optionally you can choose sun and insect resistant fabric on the outside of the panel.

Maximum transparency and protection

Another option for enjoying the outdoors longer in the fall is the addition of sliding glass walls to the patio cover. "Harol's sliding glass walls protect against wind and weather," says Isabelle Wintmolders. "The panels overlap each other when closed by about 23 mm which ensures maximum transparency, constant ventilation and good protection against driving rain. Furthermore, the sliding glass panels can be easily moved and can be fitted with a handle, lock or latch, both on the inside and outside."

Harol's sliding glass walls have a flat bottom rail (with a height of up to 13 mm). As a result, these sliding walls are not only suitable for outdoor solutions, but can also be used indoors, for example as demarcation of a space to easily create an office or walk-in closet.

Quiet operation and easy installation

In both types of sliding walls from Harol, the sliding panels can be moved individually. "This is made easy by the use of bearing-mounted running wheels and sound-absorbing running surfaces," said Isabelle Wintmolders. "The running wheels are adjustable in height, which ensures easy and fast installation. Thanks to the upright construction, large dimensions can be achieved without the need for additional reinforcements."

Additional upgrades

In addition to wooden and glass sliding walls, Harol offers additional upgrades to make a terrace even more comfortable. For example, with windproof screens, heating and dimmable LED lighting, the company has additional solutions in its product range for staying outside longer and creating more atmosphere under an awning. Options such as power outlets, with or without USB connection, complete the picture.
