Alba is a pergola with a bioclimatic slat roof by Corradi that Stefano Sghedoni says is characterized by unique comfort. "The sleek design is characterized by the recent restyling of the canopy. As a result, this pergola fits equally well with traditional and classic, as well as modern or contemporary architectural styles."
The Alba is a completely Italian design and is also manufactured in Italy. "This pergola has an elegant and minimalist structure and guarantees the greatest comfort in all weather conditions," said Sghedoni, who is director of marketing and sales for Corradi. "The flexible movable roof with slats adjustable up to 150°, allows to regulate the amount of sunlight and ventilation on the terrace as desired, so the outdoor space can be adapted to everyone's needs to create perfect conditions at any time of the day."
From an aesthetic standpoint, Corradi has taken another look at the Alba and redesigned one of Alba's most recognizable features, the corner cover. "The newly designed corner where the cross bar connects to the upright provides a more elegant look and makes it even more waterproof. This is therefore an improvement that results in both a renewed look and better performance."
Previously, there was limited ability to precisely size the Alba on the sides where the slats rotate, but now there is. It is now possible to configure the Alba to millimeter accuracy on those sides. Furthermore, it is possible to connect multiple modules without having to use an additional upright. A single module has a maximum size of 450 x 605 cm, but it is also possible to link two modules up to 600 x 605 cm without intermediate columns. In addition, according to Sghedoni, the new Alba offers some other interesting options. "For example, the new anti-splash system, which avoids water splashing during heavy rainfall. It also makes the Alba very suitable for catering terraces."
The Alba can be equipped with dimmable LED lighting integrated into the slats, as well as side screening to block the wind and possibly create privacy. If closure with sliding glass walls is chosen, they can be incorporated into the structure of the canopy, preserving its minimalist appearance. Like Corradi's other slatted roofs, Alba can be made in a wide range of colors, from the more classic to the most extravagant. "Thanks to the many options to customize the Alba to the end user's wishes, this canopy is an eye-catcher in any environment, especially in its original bi-color version," Sghedoni believes. "We deliberately chose a timeless design for the motorized Alba, so the canopy is suitable for traditional as well as the most modern and contemporary environments."
Depending on the wishes of the end customer, the Alba can be made in different configurations: freestanding with four columns, semi-freestanding mounted on the façade with one or two columns, in superstructure on an existing structure and - in the Alba Liberty version - integrated without vertical columns.
