CORNELS: 'The largest hospitality canopy in the Benelux!'

The largest hospitality canopy in the Benelux is in Almere-Haven! This immense project was realized entirely with CORNELS products. "A unique cooperation project with 400 m2 of terrace that can be used year-round, resulting in more turnover for the hospitality entrepreneurs," says a proud Cornelis Nieuwenhuis, founder of CORNELS. "With our high-end products, we take outdoor spaces to the next level. The Havenkom-Almere project is a great example of this." 

Establishment

The catering entrepreneurs of the four catering businesses on the Havenkom joined forces to realize this project. Together they requested an exclusive terrace roof with glass walls from the landlord of their premises because they saw the great advantages if they could offer their guests year-round use of the terrace. The business owners then contacted a CORNELS dealer and got in touch with CORNELS.

"Our dealer and the hospitality entrepreneurs visited our beautiful dealer showroom in Nieuw-Vennep together," says Nieuwenhuis. "Then the various wishes and requirements of the entrepreneurs were discussed in detail with our dealer's project consultant. CORNELS provided structural engineering advice and, in consultation with all parties, provided the design and produced the drawings. After approval, the entire project was then put into production." 

The complete, 60-m-long (!) patio cover was installed by the dealer last July. "Ease of assembly is an important aspect of product development at CORNELS. This large project, complete with glass systems, was completed by three assemblers in just five weeks!"

Custom

The NAVI CORNELS® Base series was chosen for the patio cover in this project. "This custom product is what our dealers apply most often to projects in the hospitality industry that are installed on the façade," Nieuwenhuis explains. "This canopy has a sloping design and integrated rainwater drainage. The folding roof consists of quality fabric and dimmable LED lighting in the ribs. All features make it a sought-after model. CORNELS works exclusively with the best materials. Important for users of these canopies is the translucent, waterproof fabric. For this we use the high-quality cloth from the Soltis 96 Proof series by Serge Ferrari. The choice of the color anthracite matches the house style of the catering establishments in this street, but of course any color scheme is possible." 

The canopy features the glass folding walls TALITHA CORNELS® Glass and the aluminum frame doors are KUMA CORNELS® Glass type. Side walls of fixed glass serve as partitions between the catering terraces.
