Solar solutions have quickly become a fixture within solar shading. The combination of sustainability, ease of installation and extra comfort fits seamlessly with the requirements of today's zeitgeist. Looking ahead to 2026, AVZ-Group is expanding its range with three new products: a completely new SolidScreen Solar, the Optimaxx CD 942 Solar roller shutter and the OOSOO Solar io motor. Together they represent the next step in solar shading from AVZ-Group.

New: SolidScreen Solar with refined case shape

An important novelty within the range of components and complete products is the new SolidScreen Solar. This screen has been specially developed for solar applications and is distinguished by a modified case shape, where the bottom frame runs completely inside the case when the screen is open. This provides a tighter and quieter appearance from the outside.

“Especially with solar products, you see that design and technology must go hand in hand,” explains Joris Koppens, product manager at AVZ-Group. “With this cabinet solution, we combine functionality with clear aesthetic added value.” At the same time, the product retains all the advantages that characterize solar screens, such as easy installation because cabling is unnecessary. This makes the new SolidScreen Solar not only visually sophisticated, but also practically applicable within a variety of projects.

Optimaxx CD 942 Solar: proven system, ready for solar energy

In addition to the new SolidScreen Solar, AVZ-Group introduces the Optimaxx CD 942 Solar roller shutter. This shutter builds on the familiar and proven Optimaxx systems and translates them into a modern solar solution. An important technical distinguishing feature is the use of a round tube instead of the traditional hexagonal tube. This creates a smaller roll-up diameter, increasing applicability and making the system suitable for situations where compact dimensions are desired.

The Optimaxx CD 942 Solar thus offers the robustness and reliability one has come to expect from the Optimaxx program, combined with the advantages of a solar-powered system. “The strength lies in recognition and innovation at the same time,” Koppens said. “Installers are working with a system they are familiar with while benefiting from the advantages of solar.” Available exclusively as a complete product, the Optimaxx CD 942 Solar is also available without solar drive.

OOSOO Solar io motor: smart motorization as the connecting factor

An important role within the new product introductions is played by the Somfy OOSOO Solar io motor. This motor is available for complete products and fully compatible with the Somfy io protocol, allowing it to work seamlessly with existing Somfy hardware and controls. Combined with the Stella Advanced Technology Solar Kit, it creates an efficient and future-oriented motor solution, where the high-quality glass solar panel ensures high efficiency and the battery stands out for its increased capacity.

“With this engine, we offer continuity of control and reliability,” says Joris Koppens. “That makes it clear for installers and extra comfortable for end users.” The OOSOO Solar io motor is used in the new SolidScreen Solar as well as in the Optimaxx CD 139 and Optimaxx CD 942 solar roller shutters, creating one uniform motor solution within different product groups.

Ready for 2026

With this addition, AVZ-Group is taking a clear step toward the future. Solar is increasingly becoming the standard and requires products that are technically correct, visually convincing and easily applicable. Within these extensions, AVZ and SunStock supply the necessary parts and components, while Smits Rolluiken en Zonwering offers the complete products. This creates a coherent assortment with which partners can optimally meet the growing demand for high-quality solar sun protection in 2026 and beyond.
