Sun protection: the new Coolscreen collection from Harol

Long, hot summers have long since become an exception due to climate change. Harol, specialist in sun protection and natural cooling, therefore continues to innovate and develops energy-efficient products that provide natural cooling and therefore a pleasant indoor climate. This autumn Harol is introducing its new Coolscreen collection: "Energy-efficient, with smart functionalities and sustainably produced," says technical director Joris Draelants.

The latest Harol Coolscreen collection consists of five different types. Each type of Coolscreen has its own special features. For example, there is a classic zipscreen with compact round or square front box, a version with dimmable LED lighting and a Coolscreen that works entirely on solar energy. Harol has designed the entire Coolscreen collection to provide maximum and responsible cooling for any building or home. Primarily as a natural buffer against overheating in the summer months, screens also provide extra insulation in the winter. As a result, they ensure lower energy consumption and greater living comfort all year round.

'Energy efficient and sustainable'

The new generation of screens is also more sustainable than ever, Draelants said. "Not only do the screens repel the sun in an energy-efficient manner, but we have also focused on sustainable eco-design from the very beginning. For example, the Coolscreen collection has a minimum number of parts - for maximum applications - that are not glued, but clicked together. This not only ensures great ease of installation, but this allows all parts to be easily taken apart again at the end of the life cycle. Thus, they can be reused in the circular economy and contribute to a sustainable society. In addition, there is minimal fabric wear thanks to the optimized Harol X-Glide Technology and the screens are produced using 100% green energy."

'Award-winning and innovative design'

"The screens represent premium quality with an award-winning design," Draelants continued. "For example, they have extra narrow guides, an invisible weld seam, the bottom bar disappears completely into the cabinet and the screwless design provides a sleek look. This did not go unnoticed: the entire Coolscreen collection won a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category in 2023. The collection was awarded thanks to the combination of sustainable design, smart functionalities and strong technology."

'Stylish and functional'

"There is a Coolscreen for every home and every architectural style," Draelants concludes. "The screens are fully customized and can therefore be perfectly integrated into any facade. The type, color and all options can be determined by yourself. So there is one collection, but there are endless possibilities. New construction or a renovation? The screens are completely mounted on the outside of the window and can therefore be easily installed without any cutting or breaking work. In short: ideal for houses and apartments, but also for residential care centers and hospitality applications!"
