Pol-Mar-Plast: 'Developments in shutters are not standing still'

Due to the continuing demand for roller shutters, manufacturers are now investing heavily in the development of innovative solutions. That includes Pol-Mar-Plast (PMP): "While there have been many and strong developments within shading in recent years, innovations in roller shutters have been rather limited," notes Pol-Mar-Plast manager Krystof Blyau.

Roller shutters with solar panels - Over the last year, the market has seen a surge in solar shutters. The advantage is that no electrical wiring and therefore no more time-consuming cutting and breaking is required. At Pol-Mar-Plast, the entire range of front-mounted and surface-mounted roller shutters is equipped with solar panels. 

Expanding color range - In Belgium, the window market is characterized by the wide range of colors, which can also vary in hue from brand to brand. PMP can supply a matching shutter for every window color. Cabinets and guides can be painted in any color in PMP's own paint shop. In addition, the slats can also be painted in a color of your choice. Surface-mounted roller shutters are available with more than 185 different films. 

Shutters for new building requirements - Construction requirements are becoming increasingly stringent. In order to avoid thermal bridges and build windproof, some of the current roller shutters are no longer or difficult to apply. To meet the new requirements, PMP is therefore introducing a new range of roller shutters: 

- PMP S-ROL - Shutters in which the shutter blade can be removed downwards. The case size remains limited (similar to front roller shutters), resulting in favorable installation dimensions. However, its own insulation value is limited. These shutters are favorably priced. 

- PMP Thermocombi - Roller shutters in highly thermally insulated cabinets. Due to the high insulation value, the cabinets are quite large. Those who want to use such roller shutters must take them into account from the design stage of the house. Like the combi shutters, they are pre-assembled on the window, which reduces the assembly time at the construction site. Access to the shutter box is either from the outside or the inside. These shutters are available with aluminum and PVC guides and in a color of your choice. They can be very easily finished with plaster (crepi). To avoid air leaks, these shutters are always equipped with motors. This is because a ribbon opening is difficult to make windproof.
