ALUKON: 'A practical solution that is also aesthetically pleasing'

"Take, for example, a project that Rolluikentechniek Loosdrecht was allowed to make: a beautiful, large residential house fitted with motorized screens and roller shutters, but with a challenge. After all, it was not foreseen during construction that there would be motorized products on the facade." 

In the old situation, there would have been no other option than to drill through the facade to lay the 220 V cables inside, say Angelique Kerkhof, owner of Rolluikentechiek Loosdrecht, and employee Hans Koning. "That was absolutely undesirable in this situation. Thanks to the fact that nowadays we have motors with battery technology, powered by solar panels, we were able to help the residents with a solution that was both practical and beautiful." 

Everything from our own kitchen

Among other things, Rolluikentechniek Loosdrecht processes screen profiles from German company ALUKON. "ALUKON's ZipTex screens, which we assemble ourselves, are particularly good," says Koning. "When battery motors came into vogue, we thoroughly researched which motors would be best for us. Our Easyroll concept came out of that. So we build our own battery motors into the ALUKON products. The great thing is that the ZipTex with its 100 mm cabinet has an edge when it comes to installing battery motors. This is because internally there is an aluminum bulkhead in the case, behind which we can hide the cables and plug that connect the solar panel to the motor. That means there is 'blind mounting'. So no drilling inside is necessary ánd a product that looks spotless on the outside. What more could you want?" 

Not only for own projects

Rolluikentechniek Loosdrecht obviously supplies Easy-Rol to its own customers, but in the meantime it has production so well underway that it also serves other dealers who want to apply the concept. "We supply our battery shutters and screens ready-made to other sun protection specialists, even adjusted if they want it," Koning said. "As an extra service, we charge all the motors in advance. It's plug and play." 

The shutters within the Easy-Rol concept also come from ALUKON. "There, the same applies as for the ZipTex screens: also for the roller shutters, cable and plug are neatly concealed in the cabinet. At the project in Heerhugowaard, we supplied a total of fifteen ZipTex screens and seven roller shutters, two of which were a substantial size. The latter was not a problem for us, as we only process battery motors of 20 Nm tensile strength. The motors are bi-directional and feedback their status via handheld transmitter or app. For those who want app control, a wifi hub can be added." 

A special color is very common!

Hans Becks, Sales Manager for ALUKON in the Benelux, is also pleased with the battery solution. "Hans Koning and I looked at the very best and most practical integration of his battery motors into our products and the result is worth seeing. An additional advantage of working with ALUKON is the fact that we can choose from as many as 30 standard RAL colors. The house in question is white with black frames. The customer wanted the solar screens and shutters to match the color of the window frames. He thought it was a special color. We were able to reassure him: with 30 standard RAL colors in both gloss, matt and textured paint, a special color is very common at ALUKON!"
