Motionblinds is now compatible with Homey and connects smart motorized window coverings to more than 850,000 smart home users worldwide

Motorized window coverings from Motionblinds now integrate seamlessly with Homey, one of the world’s leading smart home platforms—allowing users to control and automate their window coverings along with other connected devices in their home. 

Motionblinds, Coulisse's smart window covering brand, has implemented an official integration with Homey — the smart home platform from the Dutch company Athom, a subsidiary of LG Electronics. Motionblinds motors can now be controlled and automated via the Homey app, along with lighting, climate control, security, and thousands of other connected devices.

With more than 850,000 users worldwide, Homey is one of the most widely used smart home platforms in the world, with a strong presence in Europe and rapidly growing adoption in North America. The Homey App Store features more than 70,000 compatible devices from over 1,500 brands. 

The integration gives Motionblinds dealers and installers access to a broad audience that is actively looking for compatible smart home products. 

Three Ways to Connect

Motionblinds connects to Homey in three ways and supports the entire range of Motionblinds motors: 

• More about Thread: Eve Motionblinds motors connect directly to Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini via the built-in Thread Border Router—no additional hub required. Homey Self-Hosted Server is also supported when a Thread Border Router is present on the network.
• Matter over Wi-Fi: All Motionblinds RF 433 MHz and Bluetooth motors connect via the Motionblinds Matter Wi-Fi Bridge. Compatible with Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server.
• Local API: Motionblinds Wi-Fi bridges connect directly to Homey via a local API, without an internet connection. 

Once connected, Motionblinds motors are fully available in Homey Flows—the platform’s automation tool. Motors can be assigned to zones and rooms, along with lighting, climate control, and security devices, and automated based on time, temperature, presence, or other conditions in the home. Homey also supports voice control via Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa.
