Greater Openness in Smart Homes: CentralControl CC41 Now Supports Matter®

A free software update makes the Becker Smart Home hub even more flexible and platform-independent

With the new Matter® support in the CentralControl CC41, Becker is significantly expanding the range of applications for its Smart Home control center. Thanks to the free software update, the CC41 can be integrated even more easily into modern, brand-independent Smart Home environments. For users, this means, above all, greater openness, greater compatibility, and more freedom in choosing their preferred control interface.

The CentralControl CC41 is designed as a versatile smart home hub for controlling roller shutters, sunshades, lighting, and other household applications. The system supports Centronic and CentronicPLUS wireless products and makes setup, configuration, and operation easy via a free app. Other key features of the solution include control via smartphone, tablet, or desktop, local data storage on the device, and optional secure remote access. In addition, the CC41 offers proven convenience features such as schedules, a vacation mode, automatic switching between daylight saving time and standard time, and the retention of switching times during a power outage.

With the Matter® upgrade, this proven platform is now being expanded with an important, forward-looking technology. The new functionality can be easily installed on the CentralControl CC41 via a software update at no cost. With a few exceptions, all devices registered in the CC41 will then be displayed as Matter® devices and can be controlled accordingly. A particular milestone here is the use of what the company claims is the world’s first certified Matter® stack. With this, Becker underscores its ambition to offer innovative and, at the same time, future-proof, investment-secure solutions for the connected home.

For users, this offers clear added value in everyday life: devices integrated into the CentralControl CC41 can now be controlled via popular Matter® platforms such as Google Home, Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Eve. Pairing is exceptionally easy via a QR code directly from the CentralControl app. In this way, Becker combines the benefits of its familiar control environment with the openness of the Matter® standard, making integration into existing and new smart home systems significantly easier.

With the Matter® extension, the CentralControl CC41 continues to evolve: from a powerful smart home hub for the Becker product ecosystem to an even more open platform for building automation. This offers additional flexibility for both installers and trade partners as well as end users, while also enhancing the future-proofing of already installed systems.
