Wholesaler of watch parts makes strides in innovation, service and sustainability

As a wholesaler, Dalupo from Teuge in the province of Gelderland is a market leader in horological components. Thin lip screen profile

A good example of how Dalupo is giving concrete form to its constant drive for innovation are two recent product enhancements: the thin lip hurdle profile and the improved spring pin housing. "The former modification concerns the 34 mm hor profile, which is now also available in a thin lip version," says Van Dalfsen. "The lip, or 'flange,' is the part of the profile that falls into the frame. If the lip is too thick, the window or pivot part can have difficulty closing, leading to friction and wear. The thin lip prevents this problem: windows close more smoothly and installation is faster and easier, without compromising the strength of the screen. Improved spring pin housing

The spring pin housing has also been updated. Van Dalfsen: "We chose a stainless steel version that not only offers a high-quality appearance, but also better matches the stainless steel spring pin itself. In addition, the design has been improved: the traditional drill hole has been replaced by a ribbed slotted hole, which gives more flexibility when mounting. The addition of a stainless steel sealing cap also provides a neat finish and an even easier installation process."

Sustainability

In addition to product innovation, Dalupo is strongly committed to sustainability and compliance with European regulations. "For example, we have invested in reporting systems that enable us to comply with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) - an EU regulation that has been phased in since October 2023," the director continued. "This regulation requires importers of certain goods, such as aluminum profiles, to report how much CO2 was emitted in their production. From 2026, a CO2 tax will also be linked to this."

Dalupo sees this development as an opportunity to actively contribute to the European climate goals, which target a 55 percent reduction in emissions by 2030. "The CBAM will affect our processes and possibly pricing, but it also reinforces our commitment to sustainable solutions."

Strategic direction

All in all, Dalupo remains committed to innovation, quality and sustainability. In order to respond to market needs, Van Dalfsen will engage even more intensively in product development.
