"Even when it gets colder outside - or already is - the terrace continues to attract us," says Lucas Bouwers, manager at Sunparadise Netherlands, part of Sunparadise AG. "Under a canopy, behind a glass wall that is wind- and watertight and under a patio heater, it is then wonderfully comfortable. Our customers are retailers and entrepreneurs who specialize in conservatory and conservatory construction. We only supply dealers, not private individuals directly."
Swiss company Sunparadise has been developing and manufacturing balcony windows, outdoor spaces, winter gardens, facades for homes, glass roofs, windows and doors for commercial buildings since 1985. Together with colleague Rob Jonkergauw, Lucas Bouwers is responsible for the Dutch market.
"With the Hawaii 40 CUBO, Sunparadise's cubistically designed patio cover, as much as 95 m² can be covered," says Brouwers. In practice, this means that this patio covering can be used up to a width of up to 13.6 m and a depth of 6.9 m. A single post is sufficient for this span.
"The glazing, with glass thicknesses ranging from 8 mm to 42 mm, like Sunparadise's other canopies, can be easily assembled and is available in many different colors so that the glass wall can be matched to the interior," Jonkergauw adds. "Depending on what the customer wants, this canopy can be built semi-detached or freestanding, possibly with a roof overhang and without annoying uprights obstructing the view. Rainwater is efficiently drained through invisibly integrated gutters and downspouts. Integrated cable ducts allow LED lighting to be appropriately incorporated into the design."
Sunparadise has recently expanded its range with the PRIME, a high-quality patio roof for large spans, without annoying uprights in the free space. Glass panels for it are available up to 33 mm thick, different profiles can be chosen from, and this roof can be attached at an inclination of 5° to 45°. As with the CUBO, gutters and downspouts can be incorporated invisibly, and LED lighting can be integrated beautifully thanks to built-in cable channels."
For patio roofs like the PRIME, Sunparadise's latest addition to the range is the GSS17 hard-glass sliding and stacking wall with sash sizes from 900 to 2,700 mm. "A complete wall with as many as eight retractable sashes can be folded into a small sash package," notes Bouwers. "This is because the wings can all be rotated up to 90°. By the way, another feature of this sliding and stacking wall is the top and bottom guides in a narrow aluminum profile."
The GSS17 hard glass folding system can be parked on either the left or right side, allowing a total opening of the veranda. The GSS17 is applicable for balconies and veranda roofs and is often used in combination with the CUBO patio cover.
