New acquisition brings even more machinery expertise under one roof

As announced in issue 4 of Z&R, machine builders elumatec and emmegi are working closely together within the new competence centers Voilàp Netherlands and Voilàp Belgium to guarantee customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg the best service. Indeed, with "One Company," the Voilàp Group introduced a mission and strategy that focuses on bundling the competencies of different companies. Recently, the Italian multinational also acquired the Stürtz Group, a German specialist in PVC machine tools.

Joining forces worldwide

The Voilàp Group combines the expertise of leading industrial players elumatec, elusoft, emmegi, emmegisoft, imecon, Keraglass, Mappi International, Motiqa, Pladway, someco, Tekna, Voilàp Digital and now Stürtz under one roof. Thus, customers benefit from a wider product range and from bundled capabilities in sales and service.

"This also applies to customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. After all, since July 1, elumatec and Emmegi Benelux have been joining forces within Voilàp Netherlands and Voilàp Belgium. These entities handle product sales and take technical support and service to an even higher level. For the customers themselves, little will change for the time being, as the addresses and contact persons will remain as before. However, they can now enjoy all the benefits that the 'One Company' approach entails," says Bas Ladestein, managing director of Voilàp Netherlands.

His colleague Stefaan Barra, managing director Voilàp Belgium, adds: "The strategy has already been rolled out globally since last year. For example, in September 2024, 'Voilàp Smart Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.' was established - a merger of elumatec Shanghai and emmegi's sales and service team. Voilàp Ibérica is already active in the Spanish market, Voilàp Mexico and Voilàp Brasil in the South American regions, and recently Voilàp Scandinavia was also launched."

Stürtz is a leading German manufacturer of automated machines for PVC machining with international locations in Canada, Poland, Britain and the US.

Leading machine builders

Emmegi and elumatec both have a strong reputation for high-quality machines for processing profiles in plastic, aluminum and thin-walled steel. "Voilàp is the one-stop-shop for cross-cut saws, angle presses (one- or four-head), automatically controlled double-miter saws, automatic sawing machines.

automated CNC machining centers with or without infeed and/or outfeed warehouses, logistics solutions, workshop equipment systems and numerous other complementary products, such as software, digital layouts, robotics, etc.," Ladestein explained. "Bringing the two companies together provides a broader product offering, allowing us to offer customers even more targeted solutions that increase efficiency and productivity on the shop floor. This applies to the large multinational, but also to the SME or sole proprietor."

Stürtz Group

To further strengthen its position as a global market leader in supplying high-quality machines for the construction of windows and facades, the Voilàp Group acquired the Stürtz Group in mid-September. This leading manufacturer of automated machines for PVC machining is based in Neustadt, Germany, but also has international branches in Canada, Poland, Britain and the US.

"This acquisition represents an ideal extension to our existing portfolio with the elumatec, emmegi and Tekna machine tools for aluminum and the Keraglass and Mappi brands in the glass processing sector. In addition, the Stürtz Group's leadership in PVC machine tools complements the expertise we have already built up with the production of the Someco machines," stressed Valter Caiumi, CEO of the Voilàp Group. "It was a unique opportunity to develop an even wider network of intelligent and interconnected machines for 'smart factories.'"
