Coulisse: 'More than smart blinds with Award-winning innovations'

Visitors to the R+T could not - once again - ignore Coulisse this edition. In the Atrium of the exhibition building the company had realized a real world of experience. Here Motionblinds, Coulisse's brand for smart motors, took center stage in various ways. 

"In a number of steps, we shared our story with visitors," says a proud PR events specialist Mariët Buld. "The goal was to give our visitors an experience. That started with a message through a hologram from our partners Eve, ABB, Google and Samsung. They told about the collaboration with Motionblinds and the importance of smart home in the future. After this introduction, visitors were led to a room where Coulisse's largest video production to date was on display. Through a 360°experience, visitors could experience what the world of Motionblinds has to offer. Thereby energy savings, convenience and safety are central." 

Sun protection that fits an increasingly smart world

These themes were further explained in various scenes from everyday life. Such as getting up with window coverings going up automatically and music starting, the right conditions in a home office thanks to blinds, as well as automated lighting and ventilation. "The world is getting smarter," observes Product Manager Roy Ebbekink. "The energy transition is moving fast and we are moving with it. Thanks to the global smart home standard Matter, it is possible to link all products together. We combine this with Thread's energy-efficient and local mesh networking technology. Without an app or account, our customers can then control all their smart devices." 

This story naturally combined Coulisse with several novelties. "One of these is our upgrade kit. This motor for roller blinds fits virtually any tube size due to a smart system that adapts to the size of the tube. So any roller blind can become 'smart'. Of course, this product can be easily connected to all other smart home solutions." 

For two other innovations, Coulisse won an R+T Innovation Award. The first, in the Building Automation category, was for the Adaptive Shading function. This technology allows blinds to intuitively adjust to the position of the sun, optimizing natural daylight and energy efficiency based on the geographical location and orientation of the window. The second award, in the Interior Sun Shading Systems category, awarded the Smart Frame. This new, motorized, solar-powered pleated and honeycomb solar shading system in a magnetic frame is specially designed for drill-free installation on tilt-and-turn windows and doors.
