Eibergen-based Verosol Group, a specialist in the design and production of functional fabrics for indoor blinds, has a new owner. It is Kvadrat, a leading global manufacturer of high-quality designer textiles. With the acquisition of Verosol, Kvadrat creates a strong position in the market of technical sun protection textiles.
Verosol was founded in 1965 by Cornelis Verolme. The story is well known: to keep out the sun indoors, he invented a cloth sunshade on which a microscopically thin layer of aluminum was vaporized to reflect the sun's thermal radiation. To make the cloth, a specialized manufacturing process was developed that remains unique today.
As the inventor of the metalized textile, Verosol Fabrics is constantly innovating to achieve the highest performance in heat and daylight control. The result of these efforts are innovative fabrics that offer the highest performance in terms of heat and daylight control, while maintaining visibility to the outside, with the goal of creating a more sustainable living and working environment.

With Kvadrat's acquisition of Verosol, the added value and prominence of high performance metallized indoor blinds will be increased. "Verosol and Kvadrat share the same vision in pushing the technological and aesthetic boundaries in textile design," said Kvadrat CEO Anders Byriel. "Kvadrat has always been at the forefront of innovation. As the world leader in metallized textiles, Verosol has a fundamental position in the market. With a lot of textile knowledge combined with glass expertise, temperature and light regulation and energy savings can be achieved. Joining Verosol in the Kvadrat family gives us access to crucial technologies and allows us to gain a stronger position in the market."
"Kvadrat and Verosol Fabrics already have a long-standing relationship," adds Verosol Group CEO Jasper Hoek. "This new step is perfect for both companies. It brings together both our expertise in high-quality window coverings and will give us many new opportunities, especially internationally."

Verosol Fabrics will develop metallized fabrics exclusively for Kvadrat Shade - a new company founded by Kvadrat and Coulisse. They will be marketed through Kvadrat's global sales network.
The renewed cooperation between Verosol Fabrics and Kvadrat does not change the relationship between Verosol Netherlands and its dealer network. Verosol Netherlands will continue to support its Official Verosol dealers and points of sale in the same way as before. However, Verosol does expect that the intensified cooperation with Kvadrat will have a positive effect on Verosol's brand awareness, especially among architects and designers.
