Tilt, slide, rotate or open? Many variation possibilities

The awning industry has a love-hate relationship with the garage door. For quite a few dealers, it is a product too alien to the industry. Moreover, the demand for awnings, roller shutters and patio coverings is currently so great that attention for the garage door has been set aside for the time being. But other times will come and then the garage door might be a good opportunity. The big question then is: will it be tilt, slide, turn or open?

That we no longer tilt much is obvious by now. The time-honored tilt gate, however practical, is becoming more and more obsolete. This has to do with insulation, which is better and easier with other gates, but also with - automated -  operating options.

The sectional door is an often chosen alternative to close a garage. The roller door is also an option. Not as often chosen, but practical because the gate rolls up into a closet, inside or outside, leaving the garage ceiling free for storage.

For several years now, a lot of attention has been paid to the swinging garage doors. The concept for this door is not new, of course, but it has made its re-entry and is now very popular. Understandable because French doors make a garage easily accessible, which is convenient if the garage is used - also - as a bicycle storage and shed.
