Verano® wins prestigious red dot design award

The coveted Red Dot Awards were recently presented in Mülheim an der Ruhr. After the many rave reviews at the Polyclose, we can now also share with great pride that we have won the Red Dot Product Design Award with our new pergola and veranda awning V642 - Tumba.

Winning design

The poles and side guides of the V642 - Tumba are the same size, creating unity of design, and therefore appearance. The visual impact of any connecting parts are minimized and the retractable construction provides efficient protection from both sun and rain. The veranda awning features a patented locking mechanism that ensures that the front frame is “locked”. The revolutionary four-sided variable tension system ensures smooth movement of the fabric. When fully opened, extreme tension is achieved by automatically locking the front frame and applying tremendous force to the fabric with the same motor that moves the system. The result: a fabric that not only looks perfect, without wrinkles or waves, but also performs at its best. The fabric does not create so-called “water pockets,” even at a low slope of the structure. The side guides offer superior drainage management where water flows through the poles even when the structure is not fully open. Drainage of rain up to as much as 50 liters per square meter per hour from a roof pitch of eight degrees is guaranteed. By limiting the roof pitch to eight degrees, it is possible to create ample headroom in any desired porch and pergola awning extension.
