Innovation and new systems take center stage at Polyclose 2020

New and innovative are the key words for Polyclose 2020, according to fair organizer Guy Martens. "New and innovative systems, new trends and new European exhibitors." Polyclose 2020 will be held as usual at Flanders Expo Ghent and will open its doors on Wednesday, January 15, at 9:30 a.m. "Make a note of that date in your calendar!" advises Martens. "The fair lasts until Friday the 17th and is free for industry professionals, provided they have registered online in advance." 

The market for windows and doors, blinds, facade systems and access technologies is innovating significantly. observes Martens. "Building and building optimization is more than ever the new trend due to increasingly stringent energy and safety standards and the digitalization of the building process. In addition, it will be seen at Polyclose that more and more importance is being attached to the degree of finishing and a quasi-invisible integration of elements." 

The design of windows and doors, size, functionality, combined with solar control systems, are increasingly influential in modern architecture, Martens notes. Traditional stone facades are being replaced by glass facades, and not only in big cities, as before, but in recent years also in rural areas. "The traditional gable roof is being replaced by a flat roof. One could say that the roof no longer rests on the facades, but lies between them. In contemporary architecture, roofs are becoming a horizontal continuation of the facade and façade elements. This obviously offers more opportunities to install solar panels, for example, but also to optimize their efficiency." 

During Polyclose 2020, more than 250 European exhibitors will demonstrate their novelties over three days. The organization expects to welcome a total of some 14,000 visitors, a quarter of whom are expected to come from the Netherlands. "The large number of visitors makes Polyclose an event that really should not be missed by any professional," Martens believes. "Anyone who wants to keep abreast of the latest products and trends should not miss the fair!" 

Leading exhibitors from across Europe

Polyclose stands for everything that opens and closes in a building. The trade fair offers an overview of all moving elements, including gates and fences, as well as sunshades. Exhibitors are mainly active in: alu-profiles, alu-systems, automation, biometric systems, building hardware, coating, door systems, seals, tools, facades, glass and accessories, plastic profiles, plastic systems, machinery, gates, roller shutters, locks, software, steel systems, access control, ventilation systems, insect protection and sun protection. "Already in July of this year, more than half a year before the start of the fair, 95% of the available booth space had been filled," Martens noted with satisfaction. "What's special, moreover, is that this year we were once again able to welcome quite a few German, Italian and Dutch companies!" 

All-round offer for the construction professional

The visitors that Polyclose is primarily targeting are professionals working in sectors such as aluminum and plastic machining, architecture and research firms, automation and access control, construction, security, glass, windows and doors, joinery, ventilation and blinds and shutters.
